One arrest made in fatal shooting of 15-year-old in Lewisville

On Thursday, October 5th, Lewisville police responded to a shooting call in the 200 block of E. Round Grove Road.
Detectives say two males, a 19-year-old and a 15-year-old, went to the parking lot in the 200 block of E. Round Grove Road in a black Porsche SUV to buy marijuana from another person. A group of men showed up around 2 p.m. in a Chrysler model vehicle. Shortly after their arrival, the occupants of both vehicles began exchanging gunfire with multiple people exiting their vehicles and shooting at each other.
The 19-year-old exited the Porsche and was eventually shot in the hand. After being shot, he attempted to get back into the Porsche when he ran into the 15-year-old boy, who had ducked down behind a backseat door.
When they collided, the 19-year-old’s gun discharged one bullet, hitting the 15-year-old in the chest, killing him. They drove away from the scene. It was discovered at a nearby apartment complex when a 9-1-1 call was made regarding the gunshot victim.
The 19-year-old has been charged with Manslaughter because this appears to be an accidental shooting.
The investigation into this shooting is ongoing as Lewisville Police Department is still searching for the suspects in the Chrysler who took off from the parking lot scene.
