Man fatally struck by vehicle after argument with wife, Fort Worth police say

At around 8:42pm on Saturday, November 10, Fort Worth Fire Department and Police Department along with Medstar EMS responded to the scene of a major accident along southbound Highway 287 near Blue Mound Road.

Officials say they received a 9-1-1 call from a woman stating her husband had been struck by a vehicle. Further investigation revealed the couple had an argument in the vehicle, pulled over to the side of the road, and the man got out. As he attempted to cross the highway, he was struck by a passing motorist.

First responders located him in the grassy median between the northbound and southbound lanes. Both directions of the highway were closed while MedStar and paramedic crews worked to revive the man, but his injuries were too severe. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim as a 28-year-old man from Watauga.

The driver of the vehicle who hit him remained at the scene. They will not be facing any charges.
