Disturbance leads to shooting in Roanoke; two injured, suspect arrested

The Roanoke Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place last night (Sunday) in the 100 block of Country View Drive.

According to police, a disturbance took place at the given location. At some point during that disturbance, one person fired a handgun into a vehicle, injuring the two occupants inside.

One person was transported to the hospital and the other did not seek medical attention. No injuries are reported to be life-threatening.

A 23-year-old male was arrested this morning by the North Tarrant Regional SWAT Team. He has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault.

The incident remains under investigation.

TXDOT pretreating elevated roadways across DFW ahead of wintry weather chances

The Texas Dept. of Transportation has announced the pretreating of elevated roadways across the Dallas – Fort Worth Metroplex ahead of a cold front that may bring some wintry precipitation.

According to the National Weather Service, a cold front will move through during the day tonight, dropping temperatures into the 30’s during the overnight hours. There is a chance of wintry precipitation early Tuesday morning as temperatures dip near freezing. The highest chance is between the hours of 6AM and 11AM tomorrow (Tuesday) morning.

If wintry precipitation falls or not, it will likely be a wet commute regardless. Cold rain chances are high during the overnight hours and into Tuesday morning.

In anticipation of possible wintry weather, TxDOT Dallas and TxDOT Fort Worth offices have announced they are pretreating elevate roadways in Dallas, Collin, Denton, Tarrant, and potentially others. At this time, it appears they are focusing on elevated roadways, such as overpasses and bridges.

“Please use caution if you encounter our crews and give them plenty of space to work,” says TxDOT.

Driver arrested for intoxication following fatal crash in Fort Worth

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a fatality accident involving an intoxicated driver that occurred last night in the 1800 block of Mitchell Blvd.

Fort Worth FD, PD, and MedStar EMS were all dispatched to the scene at 5:45PM on Saturday evening. A two-vehicle crash was located near the intersection of Mitchell and Beach streets.

Police say an intoxicated driver fleeing the scene of a prior accident struck a vehicle at the given location. One occupant inside the vehicle struck by the intoxicated driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. Others were injured and transported to the hospital.

Following the crash, the intoxicated driver, identified as a 36-year-old male, was arrested for a charge of Intoxicated Manslaughter with a Vehicle.

The victim has been identified as a 61-year-old female.

Firefighters control house fire in Everman

The Everman Fire Department along with assistance from several mutual aid departments responded to a house fire this evening in the 700 block of Plymouth Ave.

Everman Engine 19 arrived on scene with fire showing from a one story house. Fire was located in the attic and throughout areas of the house.

The fire has since been contained.

Forest Hill, Rendon, and Crowley fire departments all responded to assist.

UPDATE: Driver dies after head-on crash on 174 in Johnson County

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a major accident with fatality that occurred this morning on Highway 174 between Cleburne and Rio Vista.

Cleburne FD, Rio Vista FD, AMR, CareFlite, and multiple law enforcement all responded to the scene just before 10AM.

According to DPS, the crash involved two vehicles. A northbound vehicle crossed the center line and collided head-on with a southbound vehicle. It is not yet known why the vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic.

The driver of the vehicle that crossed into oncoming traffic was pronounced deceased at the scene. She has been identified as a 62-year-old female from Whitney.

Two occupants inside the southbound vehicle were transported to Harris downtown with serious injuries. One of them was airlifted by CareFlite air ambulance.

The investigation is still ongoing.

[Updated] Fort Worth police investigating two overnight crashes with ejections; both fatal

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigate two separate crashes overnight, both involving ejections. Both involve fatalities.

At 1:38AM, Fort Worth PD, FD, and MedStar all responded to a two vehicle crash on northbound I35W near Rosedale. Two pickup trucks were involved in a crash. One the drivers was ejected and killed at the scene. The other driver fled the scene on foot, but was located with the help of the department’s Air-1 helicopter.

At 2:05AM, Fort Worth FD, PD, and MedStar all responded to a major accident involving a vehicle rollover at 2600 Brennan Ave. Police say a vehicle was traveling along the roadway, clipped a parked 18-wheeler, and overturned several times. Two people were ejected from the vehicle. Both were transported to the hospital with serious injuries. One of them, a 25-year-old male, died at the hospital.

Both crashes are under investigation.

Lamborghini driver dead, passenger airlifted after crash in Grand Prairie

The TxDPS is investigating a major accident with fatality that occurred late last night on the PGBT at Arkansas Lane.

DPS troopers and emergency responders from Grand Prairie were called to the scene around 11PM.

Officials say a Lamborghini was traveling on the Turnpike when the driver lost control. The vehicle then struck a guardrail.

The driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene. CareFlite was called to the scene and airlifted a passenger to the hospital with serious injuries.

Northbound lanes of the PGBT were closed while emergency responders worked the scene. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

UPDATE: Woman and child airlifted from head-on crash in Johnson County

Multiple emergency responders are working to clear up a major accident in the westbound lanes of Highway 67 near County Road 810. This scene is between Keene and Alvarado west of I35W.

Reports indicate the crash involved a head-on collision between two vehicles. Firefighters extricated at least one trapped person from the wreckage.

Two CareFlite helicopters were called to the scene.

CareFlite 1 is airlifting a female patient to Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth. CareFlite 2 is airlifting a female pediatric patient to Cook Children’s Hospital.

Pedestrian fatally struck by vehicle while attempting to cross I-20 in Grand Prairie

The Grand Prairie Police Department is investigating a major accident with fatality that occurred around 3:20AM this morning.

Emergency responders were called to the eastbound lanes of I-20 near SH-360 just after 3:00AM this morning. One person was found to be deceased on the scene.

According to police, a pedestrian was attempting to cross the interstate when he was fatally struck by a vehicle. The vehicle became disabled after the accident, causing another vehicle to crash into it.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on the scene. He has been identified as a 31-year-old male.

No other injuries were reported. No charges are expected to be filed.

Arlington police investigating police chase that ended in fatal crash

The Arlington Police Department is currently investigating a major accident secondary to a police chase near the intersection of Bowen Road and Abram Road.

According to APD, officers were pursuing a suspect in a stolen vehicle when the vehicle was involved in a significant crash. Two vehicles have been overturned in the accident. Both are in the Kroger parking lot.

One fatality has been confirmed at this time.

All lanes of northbound and southbound Bowen Road are closed while police investigate the scene. The department’s Mobile Command Unit is on scene, indicating they will be there a while.

It is best to avoid the area.

Update – The deceased suspect in this case has been identified as a 23-year-old male from Arlington.
