Overnight shooting kills 22-year-old at southwest Dallas apartment complex

The Dallas PD is investigating an overnight shooting that left one person dead.

DPD officers responded to the Brandon Mill Apartments at 8081 Marvin D. Love Freeway around 2:45am this morning and found a 22-year-old man dead of an apparent gunshot wound.

Shooting call leads to SWAT standoff in Garland; residents asked to remain indoors

Residents in the Hidden Forest Estates neighborhood in east Garland are being asked to remain indoors while police handle a SWAT standoff.

Garland police officers responded to a shooting call in the 600 block of River Birch Trail earlier this evening. At least one suspect is barricaded inside of a residence.

“We are asking anyone who lives in the neighborhood to remain in your home until it is safe to come out” says Garland PD. This is ongoing in the area of Highway 66 and Basswood Trail.

Update – SWAT has made entry into the residence and the suspect is deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Shooting at east Dallas CVS store leaves one person dead

The Dallas Police Department is investigating the fatal shooting of a mid-20’s male yesterday at a CVS store in east Dallas.

The incident occurred at 6004 Samuel Blvd. The victim was shot and killed as he approached another person’s vehicle in the parking lot of the store. The suspect drove away from the scene and waited for police at another location.

He was taken to DPD HQ, and after questioning was taken into custody and arrested for murder.

Fort Worth police seek person of interest in Friday morning homicide

The Fort Worth Police Department responded to a shooting early this morning around 5:45am at a residence in the 6000 block of McKaskle Drive.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers located a female with multiple gunshot wounds. She died as a result of these injuries.

Police believe this to be a domestic situation, and are looking for a person of interest with whom the victim dating.

Midlothian emergency responders working major crash with entrapment on 287

Midlothian Fire/EMS and Police units are working a major accident in the 3200 block of Highway 287 near Eastgate Road just east of Midlothian.

FD units are performing extrication at this time. Serious injuries are reported.

Medical helicopters have been requested to the scene. PHI Med 8 is responding, and a second has been requested.

There are major delays on this portion of Highway 287. Avoid this area.

Update – PHI Med 8 has landed at the scene. CareFlite will be landing shortly.

Update – PHI Med 8 has returned to Medical City Arlington. It is unknown if they transported a patient from this scene to that facility. CareFlite is airlifting a patient into Dallas.

UPDATE: Both victims in shooting at Fort Worth Home Depot have died

The Fort Worth Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding a shooting last night at the Home Depot store, I35W and Sycamore School Road.

As we first reported, the shooting occurred in the parking lot and injured two people. Both were transported by Medstar with major injuries. Both of these victims have died as a result of their injuries sustained in this incident.

Surveillance footage obtained by detectives shows two individuals approaching a vehicle that was parked in the parking lot. A shooting occurred and the individuals inside the vehicle left the scene.

Detectives believe the individuals in this vehicle have knowledge of the circumstances surrounding the shooting and are requesting that anyone, including the occupants of the vehicle, with information about this incident contact Detective Watson at 817-392-4330.

As of 11am this morning, the FWPD clarified that it has not been determined if this was a robbery attempt. Detectives are still wanting to speak with the individual involved that left the scene to determine the possible motive and circumstances involved.

Fort Worth firefighters battling a house fire on the south side

Engine 29 has arrived to find heavy smoke and fire showing from a house in the 2400 block of Echo Point Drive.

Firefighters are working to contain the fire and search the residence for anyone inside. The home owner reported to firefighters that everyone has made it out.

Battalion 1, Engine 17, Quint 17, Quint 26, Engine 36, Engine 28, and Engine 26 are all assigned to the fire.

This is ongoing in a neighborhood off Hawkwood Trail and Sycamore School Road. Avoid this area.

Low-speed pursuit ends in Bedford

The Bedford Police Department has ended a low-speed pursuit near the intersection of Central Drive and L Don Dodson Drive just north of 121.

The driver of a small vehicle led police on a relatively low speed pursuit throughout the area, on roadways and in parking lots.

The department’s SWAT team was called in to assist with taking the suspect into custody. An armored personnel carrier arrived and one person was taken into custody.

There are no additional details.

Fort Worth PD investigating a shooting at Home Depot

Fort Worth PD is investigating a reported shooting at the Home Depot store at 7950 South Freeway and Sycamore School Road.

Reports indicate the scene is in the parking lot. The department’s Air-1 helicopter is overhead.

There is heavy police presence at the store. Avoid this area.

More details will be provided when we have them.

Update – Two people shot and transported in unknown condition.

Ten people onboard overturned school bus transported to hospitals

Just before 4:00pm this evening, Dallas Fire-Rescue and multiple law enforcement officers responded to a major accident involving an overturned school bus along I-30 at Walton Walker Blvd (Loop 12).

DFR sent a total of six ambulances to the scene along with other apparatus. Eleven people, ten children and one bus driver, were on board the school bus when it overturned onto its side.

Nine of the students and the driver were transported to area hospitals, all with non-life-threatening injuries. DFR says the last student was released to his/her parents.
