The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a serious crash that closed lanes of Highway 287 during most of the overnight hours.
Just after midnight, multiple emergency responders from Wise County were dispatched to a crash along Highway 287 near the Wise County and Tarrant County line.
Investigators say a pickup truck was driving northbound on Highway 287 when the driver veered onto the right shoulder and overcorrected, causing the vehicle to overturn several times. The vehicle came to rest in the southbound lanes of traffic.
The driver of the vehicle was ejected. A passenger in the vehicle also sustained injuries. They were both transported from the scene to JPS Hospital in Fort Worth. At least one of them was airlifted.
All northbound and southbound lanes of the highway were blocked for several hours while DPS investigated the crash. The highway has since been reopened.
