Just after 3:00pm this afternoon, a DPS Trooper attempted to stop a white Dodge SUV traveling along Interstate 20 in the Willow Park area for a traffic violation. The female driver of the Dodge took off and police pursued.
The pursuit came eastbound on Interstate 20 into Tarrant County and ended when the driver hit a box truck on the highway near McCart Avenue. Four other vehicles were involved in the collision. The female suspect was trapped in the vehicle and had to be cut out by Fort Worth firefighters.
MedStar EMS transported her to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. One of the occupants in another vehicle was taken to a hospital with undisclosed injuries.
Only one lane of eastbound Interstate 20 got by the accident scene while emergency responders worked the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
