The Dallas Police Department is investigating an officer involved shooting that occurred Sunday evening in the 3400 block of Metropolitan Avenue.
At 6:15pm, Dallas police responded to a call for a person with a gun at the given location. As officers arrived and started walking towards the man, he pulled out a weapon and charged at officers, firing his gun at least once.
Responding officers fired back and struck the suspect at least once.
Paramedics transported the man to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. He has been identified as a 61-year-old man.
Another victim was injured in the gunfire and taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
The Dallas County District Attorney’s Office responded and will conduct their own investigation.
