The Frisco Police Department has arrested a burglary suspect who was shot and wounded by a homeowner while attempting to gain entry into the homeowner’s residence.
On Sunday, November 26, 2023, at approximately 8:06 p.m., Frisco Police Officers responded to a suspicious activity call in the 10400-block of Belfort Drive. A resident advised Dispatch that an unknown subject broke into their backyard, pulled a ladder off the house, and used it to break a window.
As Officers approached the location, they reported hearing gunshots. Upon securing the scene, Officers found 18-year-old Clinton Montgomery of North Richland Hills inside the home with a gunshot wound. Further investigation revealed that Montgomery was attempting to enter the residence when he was shot by the homeowner.
Frisco Fire Department personnel later transported Montgomery to a local hospital for treatment where he remains in custody for Burglary of a Habitation. The offense is a second-degree felony carrying a maximum punishment of two to twenty years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
