On Thursday at approximately 3:48am, several agencies responded to a major accident along southbound Highway 287 near the Wise and Montague County line.
A preliminary investigation has revealed an 18-wheeler was traveling southbound on Highway 287 when it overturned and blocked the southbound lanes.
A 33-year-old man driving a pickup truck southbound on Highway 287 collided with the 18-wheeler after it overturned. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the 18-wheeler was not seriously injured.
