A suspect taken into custody following a murder in Celina on Wednesday has been linked to numerous shootings and murders across North Texas.
As reported on DFW Scanner, multiple law enforcement officers were called to a house fire in the 1400 block of Anvil Drive in Celina on Wednesday at around 11:00AM. An armed man was seen running away from the house, leading to an extensive search of the area. Later in the day, officers located the suspect in Ellis County and arrested him.
During the investigation, it was determined that the suspect from the Celina murder, identified as 31-year-old Jeremy Harris, was the suspect involved in multiple shootings over the past month.
Investigators say the suspect is responsible for drive-by shootings in Prosper, one shooting in Denton, and multiple murders in Dallas. One person was injured in the Prosper shooting.
The Dallas Police Department has linked Harris to at least three shootings, including the murder of a 19-year-old college student in downtown Dallas on Halloween. Police say the suspect is also responsible for two murders which occurred 30 minutes apart on November 14th at I35E service road / Empire Central and 1100 S. Beckley Avenue. A shooting on November 16th at 6012 E. Grand Avenue is also linked to the suspect.
The Denton Police Department says Jeremy Harris is also responsible for a shooting that occurred in their city back on November 17th. Two 20-year-old women were shot and injured after a vehicle drove up beside theirs and opened fire.
Jeremy Harris is being held in jail on a $3 million dollar bond.
