Fort Worth police respond to four overnight shootings within 30 minutes

Fort Worth Police had an active overnight shift, responding to a total of four shooting incidents within 30 minutes. Here is a quick summary of each incident as released by Fort Worth PD.

On Sunday, August 18th, 2024, at 1:38 a.m., South Division units were dispatched to 1200 block of East Shaw Street for a shooting incident. During an altercation believed to be related to a firearm sale, the suspect began assaulting the victim with the weapon, resulting in the victim being shot. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Gun Violence Detectives are leading the investigation.

On Sunday, August 18th, 2024 at 1:44 a.m., Northwest units were dispatched to 1800 block of Highland Avenue responding to a shooting. According to witnesses, during the course of a robbery, the victim was shot by the suspect. They were taken to an area hospital for multiple non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. The suspect is still outstanding and Gun Violence as well as Robbery detectives were notified.

On Sunday, August 18th, 2024, at 01:47 a.m., East Division units were dispatched to the area of Miller Avenue and Hardeman Street in response to a shooting. The victim, a 23-year-old man, was shot by an unknown suspect and taken to an area hospital in critical condition. He later succumbed to his injuries. The details surrounding the incident are unknown and the Homicide Unit will be handling the investigation.

On Sunday, August 18th, 2024, at 01:56 a.m., Northwest Division units were dispatched to the 2700 block of N.W. 18th Street for a reported drive-by shooting. According to a witness, they were walking down the street when an unknown suspect drove by and opened fire before fleeing the scene. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Gun Violence Detectives were notified and are handling the investigation.
