Rowlett PD officers responded to multiple reports of a shooting near the 9100 block of Waterview Parkway. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a large group of individuals had been involved in a physical altercation.
During the altercation, a 16-year-old female sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. She was transported to a local hospital and is currently in stable condition.
While investigating at the scene, officers detained two individuals found in possession of firearms, a juvenile and a 17-year-old male, who have both been charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon (UCW).
This appears to be an isolated incident, and the investigation remains active. At this time, no additional information will be released.
