UPDATE: Five people transported from six-vehicle crash on 183 in Dallas

Dallas Fire-Rescue continues to clear up a major accident that occurred earlier this morning along eastbound Highway 183 near Mockingbird Lane.

Emergency responders from Dallas Fire-Rescue and Dallas Police Department were dispatched to the scene at 8:51AM this morning. The original location of the crash was reported to be at I35E and Commonwealth. The crash was located at 183 near Mockingbird.

A total of seven (7) ambulances were called to the scene. Four (4) of the ambulances transported a total of five (5) people to area hospitals for evaluation of their injuries. No conditions have been released.

The accident involved at least six (6) vehicles, including an 18-wheeler. During the collision, the 18-wheeler pinned one of the vehicles, which required extrication by DFR to extricate the driver.

At some point after firefighters cut the driver out, the vehicle caught fire.

Eastbound Highway 183 remains closed at this time (11:57AM).
