The Dallas Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred in the 10500 block of Shady Trail near Lombardy Lane overnight in the northwest Dallas area.
Dallas firefighters and police responded to the crash around 3:40AM this morning. A motorcyclist was traveling northbound on Shady Trail when he was found lying along the roadway. He was pronounced deceased on the scene by DFR paramedics.
Traffic investigators found evidence to indicate there was another vehicle involved in the crash. At this time, police have not released a vehicle description.
Dallas police are pursuing charges of Failure to Stop and Render Aid to the suspected driver, when found.
The motorcyclist has been identified as a 40-year-old man.
The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatality accident that occurred on Thanksgiving night in the northbound lanes of Interstate 35E near Northwest Highway.
Multiple emergency responders from the Dallas Fire Rescue and Dallas sheriffs deputies all responded to the scene around 9:48PM. One vehicle was located upright, but had obviously overturned multiple times.
Traffic investigators say two vehicles were traveling northbound on the highway, one tailgating the other. The driver of one vehicle said the other was right up on his taillights. It is unclear if the vehicles made contact, but the first vehicle swerved left for an unknown reason, causing it to overturn multiple times.
A 5-year-old boy was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased by paramedics on the scene. A 21-year-old and 19-year-old were also evaluated for injuries sustained in the crash.
The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office Vehicle Crimes Unit is investigating this crash.
The Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an accidental shooting that occurred last night (Tuesday) around 5:15PM at a house in the 2100 block of Juniper Drive, located in the Windmill Farms community near Forney.
Investigators say a 14-year-old male juvenile, who was a neighbor, and three siblings were inside the house playing with a gun when it went off. A bullet struck a 1-year-old child.
Emergency responders administered life-saving efforts to the 1-year-old child, but the injuries were too severe. The child was pronounced deceased at the scene. A sibling of the 1-year-old sustained an injury to the hand. He was transported by ambulance to a Dallas hospital in good condition.
It was determined that the 14-year-old was in violation of the law while carrying a weapon. The sheriffs office arrested and charged him with Unlawful Carrying Weapon (Class A Misdemeanor) and Making a Firearm Accessible to a Child (Class A Misdemeanor). He was taken to the Kaufman County juvenile detention center.
Investigators are still working to determine why the shooting occurred and what led up to the incident. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
The Arlington Fire Department, Arlington Police Department, and Arlington EMS are currently evaluating several buildings that have sustained damage from a likely tornado during tonight’s severe thunderstorm.
At around 8:55PM, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over the central Arlington area, east of Pantego and Dalworthington Gardens. A Tornado Warning was issued and sirens sounded. After the storm had passed, there was major damage left in its wake.
A drive-thru awning at the Burger Box on South Cooper Street at Secretary Drive collapsed onto two vehicles. Both drivers were able to get out of the vehicle after the collapse. Arlington FD’s Technical Rescue Team responded to the scene for structural integrity issues. Across the street from Burger Box, a SafeLite Auto Glass repair facility sustained major damage with all doors blown in. There was substantial damage behind the building as well, possibly from a nearby commercial building’s roof.
Along Ashbury Drive near California Lane, a large tree fell onto a single family home. The family was able to get out OK. Other residents in the immediate area were left without power. Some had their windows blown in and trees down, but escaped uninjured.
Several large windows were blown out at the strip center along Arkansas Lane and Center Street. A nearby apartment complex sustained significant damage to the roof.
There are tree limbs, trees, and power lines down across the area. The immediate impact zone, located along California Lane to Cooper Street and north to Pioneer Parkway, is still without power.
Amazingly, the Arlington Fire Department reports only three people were injured. None of the injuries are serious. Only one person was transported to the hospital.
Expect heavy police activity in the area throughout the night and into tomorrow.
The Euless Police Department has released updated information regarding the fatality accident that occurred on Monday morning in westbound lanes of Highway 183 Express near Ector Road.
Officials say a pickup truck was making an illegal pass along the westbound Highway 183 Express lanes when the vehicle collided into the back of a stalled motorcycle and its rider on the shoulder. The impact caused the motorcyclist to be ejected into the oncoming lanes of traffic on the eastbound side of the express lanes.
The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased on the scene. He has been identified as a 25-year-old man.
The driver of the pickup truck, identified as a 46-year-old man, remained at the scene and was arrested for Manslaughter.
The crash remains under investigation at this time.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a serious accident that occurred yesterday (Monday) evening along Farm to Market Road 2264 near Farm to Market Road 407 in rural Wise County.
DPS Troopers say a vehicle was driving northbound on FM 2264 from FM 407 when the driver failed to turn along a curve in the roadway. The vehicle traveled into the oncoming lanes of traffic and then crashed off the roadway, overturning multiple times and ejecting the driver.
Wise County EMS requested a PHI Air Medical helicopter to the scene for air transport. PHI Med 10 airlifted the driver to Medical City Denton with serious injuries. His condition has not yet been disclosed.
The driver has been identified as a 63-year-old man from Rhome.
The Dallas Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred late yesterday (Monday) afternoon in the southbound lanes of Central Expressway (US-75) near Midpark Road.
Investigators say driver was in the HOV lane attempting to merge onto the main lanes before the concrete barrier. As the driver attempted to merge over, he ran over the stanchions on top of the dividing lines just before hitting the wall and causing his vehicle to go airborne.
When his vehicle was airborne, a second driver following closely behind was unable to avoid hitting the elevated vehicle. The second vehicle drove up under the airborne vehicle, causing the airborne vehicle to flip over on its roof.
The driver of the vehicle that overturned was pronounced deceased at the scene. He has been identified as a 41-year-old man. The second driver was not seriously injured.
Dallas Fire Rescue responded for reports of a person trapped in the overturned vehicle, but the heavy rescue response was canceled. Dallas Police had lanes closed for a few hours while they conducted their investigation.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatality accident that occurred along FM 1446 outside of Waxahachie earlier this afternoon.
At around 4:30PM, multiple emergency responders were called to the scene of a single motorcycle accident on FM 1446 (also known as Old Buena Vista Road) near Lone Elm Road, west of Waxahachie in Ellis County.
DPS troopers say a motorcyclist driving a Harley Davidson was traveling west on FM 1446 when the driver failed to negotiate a left hand curve in the roadway. The motorcycle crashed off the north side of the roadway, went through a barbed wire fence, and came to rest off the road. The operator was ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation is still in progress at this time. There is no additional information available.
The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred during the overnight hours of Sunday, November 22nd.
Around 3:00AM, Fort Worth firefighters and police along with MedStar EMS paramedics were called to the scene of a crash at the I-35W and I-30 interchange in downtown. One vehicle and one semi truck were located on the ramp from southbound I-35W to eastbound I-30 / 287.
Traffic investigators say the driver of the vehicle was traveling the wrong direction on the flyover ramp when she hit a semi truck head-on. The driver of the vehicle was killed in the crash. She has been identified as a 20-year-old female.
The driver and passenger of the semi truck were not seriously injured.
The highway ramp was closed for hours while police investigated and cleared up the scene.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatality accident that occurred this evening along the I-45 service road in rural Ellis County.
Just after 6:00PM tonight, multiple emergency responders were called to the scene of a crash along southbound I-45 service road in the Alma area. Two vehicles were located with major damage.
The preliminary investigation indicates a stalled van was being pushed by two men in the far right lane of the southbound interstate service road when a pickup truck, driven by an intoxicated 59-year-old man, slammed into the back of the van. Both men pushing the van were struck by the pickup truck and pronounced deceased at the scene.
Three individuals inside the van were not seriously injured.
The driver, identified as a man from Corsicana, has been arrested and taken to the Ellis County jail on two counts of Intoxication Manslaughter.
The investigation is ongoing at this time. No further details are available.
