Show your Rig # 4 (MedStar / Ft Worth Fire AMBUS)

Show your Rig # 4 – Is it an Ambulance? Is it a bus? No, it’s an AMBUS. This vehicle was awarded through a grant to MedStar by the North Central Texas Trauma Regional Advisory Council and is designed to be used for local, state and national emergencies. It is one of four in the region and is part of a partnership between MedStar and the Fort Worth Fire Department. The AMBUS can be used to transport as many as 15 patients to local hospitals during major disasters or mass-casualty incidents. The AMBUS will be housed at Ft Worth Fire Station 5. When activated, it will be driven by FWFD personnel with MedStar providing the medical staff and supplies. You might see the AMBUS at events such as Races at Texas Motor Speedway, the Alliance Airshow, Mayfest or any event where there is a large amount of people present. Remember, public safety folks send your pictures to Jeffhooper1@gmail.com and John@dfwscanner.net so we can “show off your rig”
