Teenage driver dies in overnight crash on E. Loop 820 in Fort Worth

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a major accident with fatality that occurred overnight last night in the 4800 block of E. Loop 820.

Fort Worth FD, PD, and MedStar EMS all responded to the scene at 12:49AM. One vehicle struck a guardrail.

The driver was pronounced deceased on the scene. Three other occupants in the vehicle were not seriously injured.

The victim has been identified as a 19-year-old male from Watauga.

Officials say it is not clear yet if weather played a factor in the crash.

UPDATE: Wrong-way driver charged with intoxication manslaughter in NRH crash that killed teenager

The North Richland Hills Police Department has released additional information regarding the wrong-way crash early Thanksgiving Day morning at North Loop 820 and Holiday.

Police say an intoxicated driver entered the wrong direction on eastbound North Loop 820 and crashed into three vehicles near Holiday Lane.

A driver of one of the vehicles struck by the wrong-way driver was transported to the hospital, but died as a result of his injuries. Police have identified him as a 17-year-old male.

A 29-year-old female suspect is currently in the North Richland Hills jail with a second-degree felony charge of Intoxication Manslaughter.

Person struck and killed by vehicle in east Arlington; vehicle fled scene [updated]

The Arlington Police Department is investigating a major accident with fatality that occurred early Friday morning around 2:30AM.

Arlington FD/EMS and PD responded to the scene in the 3500 block of E. Division Street near S. Great Southwest Parkway. A 29-year-old male was found deceased on the scene.

Investigators believe he was struck and killed by a vehicle traveling eastbound on E. Division Street.

The vehicle did not stop, and the driver did not render aid.

The crash is still under investigation at this time.

Note: The original press release from the Arlington PD indicated the victim was 19, but they have since updated to indicate he was 29. We have updated our story with the information.

Occupant ejected, killed in overnight crash along I-30 in Downtown Dallas

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a major accident with fatality that occurred around 12:30AM overnight along eastbound I-30 near Hotel Street in downtown Dallas.

Sheriffs deputies arrived and confirmed one person was deceased on the scene. Two vehicles were involved in the crash.

A preliminary investigation reveals one of the occupants inside one of the vehicles (unknown if driver or passenger) was ejected after the impact of the collision. He was then struck by a passing vehicle. That vehicle continued driving, and did not stop to render aid.

The deceased person has been identified as a 45-year-old male.

No additional information has been released.

2-alarm apartment fire under control in north Arlington

The Arlington Fire Department responded to an apartment fire earlier this morning in the 800 block of Cotton Creek Drive behind the Whole Foods Market.

Smoke was showing on arrival with a working fire declared inside a two-story apartment building.

No civilian injuries were reported. There was a minor firefighter injury, but he or she did not require transport, according to officials.

The fire escalated to 2-alarms and took about 45 minutes to contain.

Person dies after truck crashes into pole along NE Loop 820 in Hurst

The Hurst Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred earlier this morning along the NE Loop 820 service road near Pipeline Blvd.

Hurst FD/EMS, Richland Hills EMS, and multiple police officers responded to the scene. A pickup truck crashed into a pole. Extrication was required.

At least two people were transported to the hospital. One of the occupants, a 52-year-old male, was transported by ground ambulance to JPS, but died as a result of his injuries.

Hurst PD are investigating the incident.

Early morning wrong-way crash closes Loop 820 in North Richland Hills

The North Richland Hills Police Department is investigating a serious wrong-way crash that occurred this morning at 5:15AM in the eastbound lanes of North Loop 820 near Holiday Lane.

According to police, a vehicle entered the wrong direction on North Loop 820 at the Blvd 26 exit ramp. The vehicle then crashed into three other vehicles.

The wrong-way driver was transported in stable condition. Two other drivers were transported to the hospital, one with critical injuries.

Eastbound lanes were closed for several hours while police investigated the scene. The highway has since been reopened.

Pedestrian struck and killed along I20 in Arlington; vehicle fled scene

The Arlington Police Department is investigating a major accident involving a fatality that occurred early this morning in the lanes of I-20 near Matlock Road.

Police say a female pedestrian was walking along the shoulder of eastbound I-20 in Arlington when a passing vehicle struck her.

EMS pronounced her deceased on the scene.

The driver did not stop to render aid, and fled the scene.

Driver ejected and killed after crash in Johnson County

DPS troopers are investigating a major accident with fatality that occurred early Tuesday morning on FM 157 just north of Venus.

At approximately 5:40AM yesterday morning, DPS troopers and other emergency responders were called to the scene of a major accident on FM 157 near County Road 510 just north of Venus in Johnson County.

The preliminary investigation shows a vehicle was northbound on FM 157 when it crossed into the southbound lanes and struck a southbound vehicle. The northbound vehicle then crashed off the roadway and into the ditch. The driver of the northbound vehicle was ejected and killed at the scene.

The driver of the southbound vehicle was taken to Methodist Mansfield Hospital with undisclosed injuries.

The victim has been identified as a 40-year-old female.

Fort Worth firefighters contain house fire on the north side of town

Multiple Fort Worth firefighters were called to the scene of a house fire earlier this morning in the 8700 block of Golden Sunset Trail.

Heavy smoke and flames were visible from the roof.

Luckily, officials say no one was injured. Three residents have been displaced because of the fire.

Battalion 3, Engine 37, Quint 31, Engine 31, Quint 38, Engine 38, Engine 41, Engine 12, Engine 25, Engine 9 all responded to the scene.

There is no word on the cause.
