Man found shot dead along SW Tarrant County roadway; police investigating as a homicide

The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide after a man was found shot dead along a roadway in southwest Tarrant County.

Multiple law enforcement officers were called to the scene just before 2:30PM on Sunday afternoon along Winscott Plover Road near FM 2331, outside of Crowley.

The roadway was closed for several hours on Sunday afternoon and evening while police investigated the scene.

Information from the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s site indicates a 40-year-old man was found shot dead on railroad property.

The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office is in charge of the investigation; however, they have not released any information regarding this incident.

We will update with information when released by officials.

Man shot and killed at Hurst apartment complex

The Hurst Police Department responded to a shooting last night (Saturday) just after 9PM at the Whispering Run Apartments, 600 Bellaire Drive.

A man was shot and killed at the apartment complex. SWAT was called in to assist apprehend the suspect, who barricaded himself into the apartment unit. After negotiations, the man surrendered to police.

The shooting victim has been identified as a 34-year-old man from Fort Worth.

The motive for the shooting is currently being investigated.

Three men shot, one critically injured, after man opens fire at sports bar near Downtown Dallas

The Dallas Police Department responded to a shooting overnight at a sports bar and club in the 500 block of S. Riverfront Blvd near downtown Dallas.

According to officials, a group of men were denied entry into the club by the bouncer. One of the men went back to his vehicle and retrieved an “assault type weapon,” per Dallas PD.

The man returned to the club and opened fire, injuring a total of four people.

Three adult men were shot and one adult female was injured by shrapnel. One of men is reported to be in critical condition at this time.

The bouncer was able to lock the doors and keep the shooter outside. The shooter went around to the back of the building, but he was met with armed patrons of the club, who fired at the suspect.

The armed suspect and his group fled the scene and remain at large.

Driver attempting to pass vehicles on shoulder killed after rear-ending parked 18-wheeler along I35E

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatality crash that occurred yesterday afternoon (Thursday) in the northbound lanes of I35E near FM 934. This is just north of the I35E / I35W split in Hill County.

Officials say a man was driving on the shoulder, attempting to pass vehicles, when he rear-ended the back of a parked 18-wheeler.

The driver, identified as a 52-year-old man from Waco, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Intoxication is believed to be a factor in this crash.

There were no other injuries.

19-year-old man killed in Arlington shooting

The Arlington Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred last night (Thursday) in the 1000 block of S. Center Street near Mitchell Street.

Police were called to the Liv+ Arlington apartment complex just before 9:30PM and located one man shot. He was found near the doorway of one of the apartment units.

Detectives say the man, who has now been identified as a 19-year-old, may have been involved in “high risk activity” before the shooting occurred. This may be related to a robbery as well.

The investigation is in progress.

Missing mother and her two kids found dead inside vehicle in Farmers Branch

The Farmers Branch Police Department and the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a missing mother and her two children.

Just after 10:00am yesterday (Thursday), the Farmers Branch PD was requested to a parking lot in the area of Midway Road and LBJ (635). Responding officers located a blue SUV, matching the description of the missing woman’s vehicle.

An officer located the missing mother, now identified as 31-year-old Natalie Chambers, and her two children, both girls aged 2 and 4. Their causes of death have not yet been released.

Family and friends had been searching for Natalie and her two daughters since Wednesday. They left their home in Kaufman County, southeast of Dallas, on Wednesday morning to meet up with friends in Grapevine.

The circumstances surrounding their disappearances are unknown at this time.

The investigation is still in progress.

Arlington police investigating death of 3-year-old as a possible accidental shooting

The Arlington Police Department is investigating the shooting death of a 3-year-old young boy today.

Just before 12:30PM, Arlington firefighters, police officers, and paramedics were called to the scene in the 4100 block of Maple Springs Drive. A young boy had suffered from a gunshot wound.

Life saving measures were conducted while the child was transported to Cook Children’s hospital, but he was pronounced deceased a short time later.

APD says their homicide unit is investigating this incident as an accidental shooting by a family member.

No other details have been released at this time.

UPDATE: Driver in custody after stealing car, hitting woman in Arlington; leads police on hour+ long chase

Just before 10:30PM last night, an Arlington police officer witnessed a woman get struck by a vehicle in the QT parking lot at N. Collins Street and Division Street.

The woman stated she left her car running while she went into the convenience store. When she came out, a man was sitting in her car. As she approached him, he sped off and hit her as he fled.

The officer gave chase, while another officer assisted the woman. She was not seriously injured.

The suspect drove down Interstate 30 into downtown Dallas and south on Interstate 35E. Arlington PD discontinued the chase after about 50 minutes, but sheriffs deputies and DPS remained in the pursuit.

The pursuit continued through Waco, as many law enforcement agencies joined in to help stop the driver. At least one officer deployed a successful spike strip along I35 south of Waco.

As officers were pursuing, the suspect wrecked out along I35 near Hewitt. Officers quickly took the man into custody without incident. All lanes of the highway were temporarily closed.

DPS Dallas, DPS Ellis County, Dallas PD Air-1, DPS McLennan County, Hillsboro PD, West PD, and McLennan County Sheriff’s Office all assisted.

The driver will be charged with Robbery and Evading. There may be additional charges from other agencies as well.

UPDATE: Two dead, three injured in wrong-way crash on tollway in Frisco

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatality accident that occurred last night (Saturday) in the southbound lanes of Dallas North Tollway.

Multiple emergency responders from Frisco FD/EMS and PD along with DPS Troopers responded to the scene just before 11PM on southbound Dallas North Tollway near John Hickman Parkway.

Officials say a pickup truck was traveling the wrong direction on the tollway when it struck an SUV head-on. The driver of the wrong-way vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene. One person in the SUV was also pronounced deceased at the scene.

Three others were transported to area hospitals for treatment.

An investigation into why the pickup truck driver was traveling the wrong way is under investigation.

All southbound lanes were diverted for a few hours last night while DPS investigated the scene.

Man illegally driving ATV on road flees from Fort Worth police, dies in crash with vehicle

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a fatality accident involving an ATV vehicle at the intersection of Stone Road and Oak Grove Road.

After 5:30PM this evening, multiple emergency responders were called to the scene of the crash. One person was critically injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment. The individual was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Fort Worth PD says their officers attempted to contact a man illegally operating an ATV on a roadway when he fled from them on the vehicle. He was only able to travel a short distance before colliding with a vehicle.

The ATV operator has been identified as a 37-year-old man from Fort Worth.

The investigation is in progress.
