Young mother killed, children injured in Hurst crash

The Hurst Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred Friday morning along the southbound lanes of North Loop 820 near Glenview / Pipeline Road.

At around 9:00am on Friday morning, Hurst Fire/EMS and Police were dispatched to the area for a vehicle crash. Emergency responders found a small passenger vehicle with major damage near a creek embankment. A young woman was pronounced deceased on the scene and three children were transported to Cook Children’s hospital.

The young woman has been identified as a 28-year-old female from Fort Worth. She was driving in the car with her three children, ages 6, 2, and 5-months. The 6-year-old girl is receiving care in the ICU. The other two boys have less severe injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

No other information has been publicly released by officials.

Two shot during burglary at Weatherford house

The Weatherford Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred overnight at a house in the 1400 block of Shadow Run.

At 2:14am, Weatherford police officers were dispatched to a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, they located on person with a gunshot wound to the chest. This victim was transported to a Fort Worth hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury.

An eyewitness at the scene was able to identify an individual as a suspect. Weatherford PD worked with Fort Worth PD to locate the suspect, who was already at a local hospital receiving treatment for a gunshot wound sustained during the burglary. He is in stable condition.

At this time, it is unclear if the victim and the suspect were known to each other.

Police say there is no continuing threat to the local community.

One motorcyclist killed, two others injured in Johnson County crash

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatality accident that occurred Sunday evening in Johnson County.

At 6:53pm, multiple emergency responders from Johnson County were dispatched to the intersection of Farm to Market Road 4 and Farm to Market Road 2331 for a major accident involving two motorcycles.

Authorities say a motorcycle, occupied by an adult male operator and adult female rider, were attempting to catch up to a motorcycle group traveling on FM 2331. A second motorcyclist in the group apparently slowed to allow the other motorcycle to catch up. The operator of the motorcycle attempting to catch up failed to control his speed and collided with the second motorcyclist who had slowed down. This collision caused all three individuals to be ejected from their motorcycles.

The operator of the motorcycle who was attempting to catch up with the group was pronounced deceased at Texas Health Cleburne hospital. He has been identified as a 40-year-old man from Bedford. His adult female rider was transported to a hospital with injuries, as was the other operator involved in the collision. Their injuries are not reported to be life-threatening. None of them were wearing helmets, according to DPS.

The investigation is still ongoing.

Two young brothers killed in North Richland Hills shooting

The North Richland Hills Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred early this morning at a house in the 5100 block of Gibbons Drive.

Just before 6:00am this morning, North Richland Hills officers were dispatched to a shooting at the house and found two males with gunshot wounds.

A 17-year-old male was pronounced deceased at the scene. North Richland Hills paramedics transported a 19-year-old to a local hospital with major injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the hospital a short time later, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office. They were reported to be brothers.

Police say the investigation is ongoing at this time. They did not release any information about a suspect.

Two drivers killed in head-on crash along 287 in Midlothian

The Midlothian Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred Sunday evening in the northbound lanes of Highway 287 near the entrance to Midway Airport between Midlothian and Waxahachie.

Police believe an 83-year-old woman turned left onto Highway 287 after leaving the Whataburger, but did not travel all the way across the highway. She turned too early and started driving southbound in the northbound lanes of 287.

Multiple drivers called 9-1-1 and reported the wrong way driver. Before police were able to catch up, she collided with another vehicle head-on.

The 83-year-old driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. She was from Midlothian. The driver of the other vehicle, a 26-year-old Crowley woman, was also pronounced deceased at the scene. Her 6-year-old daughter inside the vehicle was transported to a hospital in stable condition.

Both directions of the highway were closed for a few hours while Midlothian police investigated the scene.

Denton woman arrested for murder in the death of her 3-year-old grandson

The Denton Police Department has arrested a 57-year-old woman and charged her with murder after an investigation into her 3-year-old grandson’s death.

On January 18th, the Denton Police Department was notified of a severely injured child seeking treatment at a hospital in their city. The grandmother reported to hospital staff that the child had accidentally fallen down a flight of stairs, causing the severe injuries.

Authorities and medical staff were unconvinced of her story and began an investigation into the matter. After a thorough investigation, including interviews with the child’s doctors, the grandmother confessed to the crime. She admitted to “forcefully throwing” the child onto the bathroom floor and against a wall. The child suffered major trauma and was pronounced deceased at the hospital on January 22nd.

The grandmother was the legal guardian of the child. She is facing a Murder charge.

Two people found shot in vehicle in south Fort Worth

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred this afternoon near the Taco Bell at 3150 Sycamore School Road and McCart Avenue.

At 3:10pm, Fort Worth officers were dispatched to a shooting after a woman reported her vehicle was hit by a BMW. She stated the driver of the BMW was bleeding and saying he had been shot.

Officers found two adult male shooting victims inside the car. One person was pronounced deceased at the scene by MedStar paramedics. A second victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. His condition was not released.

Homicide detectives are currently investigating the motive of this shooting. As of 9:00pm on Sunday, police had not released whether a suspect was in custody.

The investigation is ongoing.

Man fatally struck by vehicle while walking across I-30 in Dallas

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatality accident that occurred Saturday evening along westbound Interstate 30 near St. Francis Avenue.

Just before 9:00pm last night, Dallas Fire Rescue crews and Dallas County sheriffs deputies responded to reports of a person struck on the highway. Engine 53 arrived to find a man laying deceased in the lanes of the highway.

Investigators believe the man was attempting to cross Interstate 30 on foot when he was struck in the fast lane by a Jeep SUV. A second vehicle swerved to avoid the collision, but crashed into the Jeep. The two drivers were not injured.

Police say a broken cane was located at the scene, possibly indicating the pedestrian was disabled. He was wearing a dark colored jacket and clothing when he was hit.

The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the body and cause of death.

Driver killed, two others critically hurt in overnight Lewisville crash

The Lewisville Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred during the overnight hours on Business 121.

At 2:45am this morning, Lewisville FD/EMS and Police were dispatched to the 1300 block of E. Business 121 between I35E and Sam Rayburn Tollway (121) for a multiple vehicle crash.

Investigators say a passenger vehicle and pickup truck were traveling eastbound on Business 121 when the driver of the passenger vehicle clipped the back left bumper of the pickup truck. This caused the driver of the pickup truck to lose control and crash off the roadway. The truck then overturned and ejected the driver. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Police say he was not wearing a seatbelt.

After the initial impact, the driver of the passenger vehicle also lost control and collided with the center median. The vehicle flipped over into the westbound lanes where it was struck by a westbound pickup truck. Both the driver of the passenger vehicle and the driver of the pickup truck were ejected from their vehicles. Neither were wearing a seatbelt. The driver of the passenger vehicle was transported to a Dallas hospital in grave condition. The driver of the pickup truck was transported to Medical City Denton with multiple serious injuries.

Lewisville PD closed lanes of Business 121 for several hours while investigators documented evidence from the crash scene. “Everything from street racing to drunk driving is being investigated,” according to Lewisville PD.

The crash is under investigation.

One teenager killed, others seriously hurt in single car crash near White Rock Lake

The Dallas Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred overnight in the 8100 block of Garland Road near San Rafael Drive.

At 2:24am, Dallas Fire Rescue and Police were called to the scene after a vehicle struck a pole in the center median of the roadway. A heavy rescue was initially dispatched to the scene, but later disregarded.

Investigators determined a teen driver with teen passengers was traveling westbound on Garland Road at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a light pole.

The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. The three juvenile passengers were transported to area hospitals. Two are listed in critical condition and one in stable condition, according to Dallas PD.

This is an ongoing investigation.
