Intoxicated driver hits tow truck operator at High-5 interchange, killing him

The Dallas Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred Monday night at the High-5 interchange in north Dallas.

At around 10pm last night, a tow truck operator was hooking up a vehicle on the LBJ Freeway overpass at the Central Expressway when a driver hit the operator and knocked him off the overpass onto the highway below.

Dallas Fire Rescue pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

The driver who hit him was arrested for Intoxication Manslaughter. She has been identified as an adult female.

The tow truck operator has not been identified and notification of kin is pending.

Motorcyclist killed in crash near Denton

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatality accident that occurred just after midnight last night on FM 156 near Denton.

At around 12:15am, multiple emergency responders were called to the scene on FM 156 near Highway 380 south of Krum in Denton County.

Preliminary details indicate a motorcyclist was traveling south on FM 156 when the rider attempted to avoid hitting a curb and crashed the bike. He was transported by EMS to a trauma center in Denton, but died as a result of his injuries.

The victim has been identified as a 47-year-old man from Flower Mound.

The crash remains under investigation.

Man struck and killed by 18-wheeler while walking across I35E in Dallas

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatality accident that occurred during the overnight hours along the southbound lanes of Interstate 35E near Empire Central in Dallas.

At around 3:00am, Dallas Police and Fire-Rescue responded to the scene and quickly closed the freeway. Paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

Traffic investigators say the driver of an 18-wheeler was traveling southbound on the highway and did not have enough time to avoid hitting the pedestrian, who was walking across the freeway. The pedestrian was struck by the semi truck and a second passing vehicle. Both drivers stopped at the scene and neither were arrested.

All lanes of the highway were closed for a few hours while police investigated the scene.

The identity of the victim has not been publicly released. The crash remains under investigation.

Two drivers killed in fiery wrong way crash in Mansfield

The Mansfield Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred during the overnight hours along Highway 287 near Broad Street.

At around 3:00am this morning, Mansfield firefighters/paramedics and police officers were called to the scene in the northbound lanes of Highway 287. A car was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes when the driver collided head-on with another vehicle. At least one of the vehicles caught fire.

Paramedics pronounced both drivers deceased on the scene. There were no other occupants involved.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner has not yet released the identities of the victims.

The crash remains under investigation.

Man shoots and kills Lyft driver, steals car, and shot by Plano officers during shootout

The Plano Police Department and Garland Police Department are investigating a series of events that occurred earlier this morning in Garland and Plano.

Before noon, Garland police responded to a shooting in the 400 block of Forest Gate Drive and found a woman fatally shot. Officers learned she was a Lyft driver. Her vehicle was stolen after the shooting, so officers put out a BOLO (be on the lookout) to surrounding agencies.

At around 12:15pm today, officers were dispatched to assist with a person “acting erratically” in the lobby of the Plano Police Department headquarters at 909 E. 14th Street. Reports indicated he was wearing a black shirt and black mask.

The man entered the lobby before police arrived, left, and came back a few minutes later armed with a handgun. He had a brief encounter with a civilian employee in the lobby before firing a shot towards the employee. The employee was able to escape uninjured.

Additional personnel inside the police building heard the shot and immediately confronted the man, exchanging several shots.

The suspect was transported to a local hospital by the Plano Fire Rescue. His condition has not yet been released.

Plano officers located a vehicle in the parking lot and determined it was stolen from the Garland homicide approximately one hour earlier.

Both departments are still actively investigating this case. Additional details will be published when released by officials.

Teenager killed in high speed crash along I-20 in Grand Prairie

The Grand Prairie Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred along I-20 late Friday evening.

At around 10:15pm, Grand Prairie Fire/EMS and Police responded to a crash on westbound Interstate 20 near the President George Bush Turnpike. Traffic investigators say a sedan was traveling along the highway at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control and hit a guardrail.

Paramedics found several injured people at the scene, all requiring transport to the hospital. A 17-year-old passenger was transported to Medical City Arlington, but pronounced deceased from his injuries. He has been identified as a resident of Duncanville.

The four other occupants were transported to area hospitals and are expected to survive.

The crash remains under investigation.

Driver dies in high speed crash near Denton

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatality accident that occurred along Highway 380 west of Denton late Thursday night.

At around 10:30pm, multiple emergency responders were called to the scene on Highway 380 near Nail Road.

Traffic investigators say the driver of a vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when the vehicle lost control after hitting a curb and collided with a pole.

The driver, identified as a 26-year-old individual, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Lanes of Highway 380 were closed while police investigated the scene.

Man arrested for stabbing two people at restaurant in The Colony

The Colony Police Department is investigating a stabbing that occurred at a popular restaurant and entrainment venue this evening.

At around 6:30pm, The Colony police officers were called to the Seven Doors Kitchen and Cocktails at Grandscape for a stabbing incident. Reports indicate a mentally disturbed man stabbed two men numerous times with a knife and ran off.

Officers tracked down the suspect and arrested him. They transported him to a hospital for mental evaluation, and later to The Colony jail.

He has been charged with two felony counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Evading Arrest, and Resisting Arrest.

There is no official word on the conditions of the injured men.

Man found shot dead at north Fort Worth apartment

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred last night (Wednesday) at the Glens at Fossil Lake apartments, 5930 Siltstone Drive.

Police were called to the scene just after 6:00pm. Someone called 9-1-1 to report a person had been shot, possibly from a break-in. Those details have not yet been confirmed.

Medical personnel responded, but the man was pronounced deceased on the scene. He has been identified as a 26-year-old man.

Homicide detectives are investigating the crime.

Juveniles fleeing from police in stolen vehicle hit, kill innocent driver in Dallas

An innocent driver was killed overnight after his vehicle was broadsided by a stolen car fleeing Dallas police officers.

At around 1:09am this morning, a Dallas police officer ran the tags on a sedan along Buckner Blvd, which came up stolen. When the officer initiated a traffic stop, the driver took off and a chase ensued.

The chase went on for nearly 30 minutes at high speeds.

It ended at Great Trinity Forest Way and Wadsworth Drive when the suspect ran a red light and collided with another vehicle.

Paramedics transported the male driver to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The 14-year-old driver of the stolen vehicle, two more juveniles, and an adult were all take into custody and transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

The incident remains under investigation.
