Man critically injured in west Arlington shooting

The Arlington Police Department responded to a shooting today in a residential neighborhood near the intersection of San Ramon Drive and San Rafael Drive.

Police say they were called to a shooting and found a man shot in the head. He was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. At latest report, he was in grave condition.

Investigators are still working to determine what occurred.

20-year-old identified as victim in fatal Fort Worth shooting

The Fort Worth Police Department responded to a shooting incident late Tuesday night in the 1700 block of E. Roberts Street.

Officers responded to a shots fired call and located a deceased male victim on the scene.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the deceased as a 20-year-old male. The manner of death was reported as a homicide.

Homicide detectives are investigating this incident.

UPDATE: Denton officer shot in head & femur, still in critical condition; suspects caught

The Denton Police Department has released an update regarding the officer involved in the shooting overnight at 1800 W. University Drive.

The officer is a five-year veteran of the Denton Police Department. Officials say he was shot twice, once in the head and once in the femur. He remains in critical condition after surgery at Medical City Plano hospital.

After the officer shot, a second officer returned fire and obtained information on the suspect’s vehicle. The information was later released to other law enforcement agencies.

As reported, Carrollton and Farmers Branch police officers were able to track down two suspects thanks to information passed along by the Denton Police Department. Both of the suspects sustained gunshot wounds in the original shootout. They have been medically treated and arrested.

One of the suspects has been charged with Attempted Capital Murder of a Peace Officer.

The incident remains under investigation.

Bullet found at Duncanville charter school; police and school admin investigating

The Duncanville Police Department has been at the Village Tech Charter School, 402 W. Danieldale Road, for most of the afternoon while police and school administration investigate a bullet found on campus.

Police say they were called to the school just after 1PM this afternoon. A single live round of ammunition was found in the school cafeteria.

School administrators are searching the building to ensure the facility is safe. Duncanville police are on hand to assist with securing the school.

Denton police officer critically injured in shooting

The Denton Police Department is investigating an officer involved shooting overnight in the 1800 block of W. University.

Police say the officer initiated a traffic stop at the given location. During the stop, there was an exchange of gunfire and the officer was hit. He was transported to the hospital with critical injuries. He has undergone surgery and remains in critical, but stable condition.

Two persons of interest fled the scene and led police on a chase into Carrollton. The pursuit ended in the Luna and Valley View area with two in custody.

UPDATE: Two dead following serious crash on Highway 174 in Johnson County

DPS troopers have released additional information regarding the major accident we first posted last night. As reported, emergency responders were called to the scene of a major accident on Highway 174 between Rio Vista and Cleburne around 8:51PM.

Police say a northbound vehicle (#1) was attempting to pass another northbound vehicle (#2) when it collided with a southbound vehicle (#3). The collision caused the #1 vehicle to overturn.

The driver, identified as a 22-year-old male, and a passenger, identified as a 29-year-old female, of vehicle #1 were pronounced deceased on the scene by paramedics.

The driver of vehicle #3 was transported to JPS Hospital with serious injuries. A child in vehicle #3 was also transported to the hospital with possible injuries.

DPS troopers are still investigating the crash.

Driver of stalled vehicle dies after fiery crash on I20 in Fort Worth

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a major accident with fatality that occurred just after 4:00AM this morning in the westbound lanes of I20 near Campus Drive.

Police were responding to reports of a stalled vehicle in a lane on the highway when it was struck by another vehicle. The stalled vehicle caught fire and the occupant, a female, was killed. The driver of the other vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

All westbound traffic was forced off the highway while Fort Worth police investigated the scene.

One driver dead after wrong-way crash on Dallas North Tollway

DPS troopers are investigating a major accident with fatality that occurred on southbound Dallas North Tollway near University in north Dallas around 2:00AM this morning.

Troopers say an SUV was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of travel when it struck a passenger vehicle head-on. The SUV overturned and caught fire.

The driver of the passenger vehicle died at the scene. The driver of the SUV suffered undisclosed injuries and was transported to the hospital in unknown condition.

Police have not yet determined why the SUV was traveling the wrong direction on the Tollway.

No injuries after gunshots ring out at vigil for shooting victim in Dallas

The Dallas Police Department has confirmed multiple gunshots rang out during a vigil for one of the victims involved in last night’s mass shooting near Greenville.

Officers responded to the 10300 block of Cradlerock Drive for reports of a disturbance at the vigil. The disturbance escalated to gunshots.

Police say no one was injured, but several vehicles were damaged.

The investigation is ongoing.
