Elderly female dies in Haltom City crash

The Haltom City Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of an elderly female.

Emergency personnel responded to the crash at the intersection of E. Belknap Street and Waldemar Street. Reports indicate a vehicle struck a fixed object.

The driver, identified as a 70-year-old female, was transported to Texas Heath Harris Methodist Hospital, but died as a result of her injuries. She was from Saginaw.

No details have been released regarding the crash.

Police investigating fatality crash along I30 in Dallas

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office says they are investigating a major accident along eastbound I30 near St. Francis Ave.

Officials say they responded to a major accident at around 12:54PM regarding a vehicle that struck a pole. Police have confirmed one fatality in the crash.

Exit ramps to St. Francis and Jim Miller are both shut down while police investigate the scene.

It is best to avoid the area.

1:14PM – Heavy thunderstorms moving in from the north

A large cluster of heavy thunderstorms is gliding southward and will impact portions of the DFW Metroplex from now through the next few hours.

Severe weather is not anticipated at this time. Heavy rainfall and frequently lightning are the main impacts. Rains could lead to flooding at times. Some storms could have gusty winds up to 50 MPH.

If thunder roars, go indoors. And don’t drive through flooded roadways!

Motorcycle rider dies after high speed crash in north Arlington

The Arlington Police Department, Fire Department, and EMS all responded to a serious car crash last night (Wednesday) around 10:34PM at N. Collins Street and Skyline Drive, just south of I-30.

Police say a motorcyclist was traveling northbound on Collins Street at a high rate of speed when the motorcycle impacted a southbound vehicle turning left onto Skyline Drive. The force of the crash caused the vehicle to roll onto its side.

The motorcycle rider was ejected and died at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was not critically injured. Investigators say the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet.

The identity of the motorcyclist has not been released at this time.

18-year-old dies in Cleburne crash

The Cleburne Police Department is investigating a major accident with fatality that occurred yesterday (Wednesday).

Emergency responders were called to a crash on Highway 171 at Highway 67 / Katherine P. Raines Drive on the northern side of Cleburne.

An 18-year-old driving a small truck was involved in a collision with an 18-wheeler. The victim was transported to Texas Health Cleburne ER (Walls Hospital), but succumbed to his injuries. He was from Cleburne.

Police have not yet released any details on the crash, but we will update when and if they do so.

UPDATE: Third teenager involved in August 18 crash dies at Fort Worth hospital

A third teenager involved in a serious crash back on August 18th has died at the hospital.

Multiple emergency responders were called to the scene in the 4800 block of S. Riverside Drive (Fort Worth) on Sunday, August 18th. When personnel arrived, they located two patients deceased on the scene and others in the vehicle that had been seriously injured.

Reports indicate a vehicle struck another vehicle occupied by several teenagers. Both victims who died at the scene were identified as 18-year-old females.

After several days in the hospital, a third female involved in this crash, also 18, died at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth. She was from Fort Worth.

Police have not released a cause of the crash.

Child dies after being airlifted from major crash in Johnson County

Yesterday evening, multiple emergency responders were called to the scene of a crash with possible entrapment in the 1300 block of FM 3048 at County Road 704A north of Cleburne.

Personnel at the scene requested CareFlite to airlift a seriously injured pediatric patient to the hospital. CareFlite airlifted the child to Cook Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth.

According to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office, the 9-year-old male child died after being airlifted to the hospital. He was from Cleburne.

Officials have not released details on the crash just yet, but we will update this post when they do.

Arlington firefighters contain large 4-alarm apartment fire

Arlington FD has brought a large 4-alarm apartment fire in the 1800 Marable Drive under control.

Firefighters first arrived on scene with heavy fire through the roof of a 3-story apartment building. 2nd and 3rd alarms were quickly called, eventually leading to a total of 4 alarms. The fire occurred at the Springfield Apartments near Arkansas Lane and Fielder Road.

AFD says two firefighters suffered minor injuries while working to contain the fire. No other injuries have been reported.

The fire escalated to 4 alarms, leading to a call for mutual aid. Fort Worth FD responded as did Pantego FD, who regularly responds to incidents with Arlington FD.

Firefighters quickly contain fire at a house in north Fort Worth

Firefighters have quickly brought a house fire in north Fort Worth under control. Engine 31 was first on scene and reported heavy smoke showing from a one-story house.

They made quick entry into the house and knocked down the fire, bringing it under control within a few minutes.

MedStar has been requested to the scene to evaluated the home owner.

Battalion 3, Battalion 6, Quint 31, Engine 9, Engine 25, Engine 37, Safety 1, and Utility 7 all responded.

Two people shot dead in overnight Dallas shooting

The Dallas Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred just after midnight in the 4400 block of Cicero Street.

Police responded to the scene at around 12:15AM and located two people shot in the driveway of a residence. A 39-year-old female was killed at the scene and a 26-year-old male was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The Homicide Unit is investigating this incident and asking residents with information to call them at 214-671-3994.

These murders bring the monthly total of homicide offenses in Dallas to 17, accounting for about a 40% increase as compared to last month; however, the number is comparable to August of last year with 16 homicide offenses. 144 homicide offenses have taken place in Dallas this year, accounting for about a 20% increase compared to last year.
