One person shot at Crowley home

On July 31, 2023, at approximately 1:11 a.m., Crowley Police Officers responded to a 9-1-1 call to a residence in the 300 block of Palm Street in reference to a shooting.

Upon arrival, Officers located a man with one gunshot wound and provided medical assistance until EMS arrived.

The victim was transported to the hospital and is in stable condition.

After further investigation, one male subject was taken into custody and transported to the Crowley Jail on the charge of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Family Violence.

This was an isolated incident and no further threat to the public.

UPDATE: Man fatally stabbed by relative in Grapevine

At approximately 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 27, 2023, police were called to a domestic disturbance in the 1200 block of Airline Drive.

Officers quickly responded and found two men outside a home. One was lying on the ground, and appeared to be unconscious with injuries. Officers made sure the scene was safe for paramedics to render aid. The injured man was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later.

Police took the other man into custody. He is now jailed and facing charges for murder. Police officers, detectives and crime scene investigators will be on scene for much of the night processing evidence.

The department wants to assure the community that this was an isolated incident between two relatives and there is no danger to the public.

Child struck by vehicle in The Colony

At approximately 1:32pm, The Colony Fire/EMS and Police responded to reports of a child struck by a vehicle in the intersection of Main Street and Memorial Drive.

Emergency medics from The Colony Fire Department transported the child to a local hospital, condition unknown.

Accident investigators are currently investigating the scene. Motorists are encouraged to seek another route.

The investigation is ongoing.

Dallas police officer shoots stolen vehicle suspect near Dallas Love Field

On July 25, 2023, around 11:00 am, Dallas Police were surveilling a stolen U-Haul truck in Northwest Dallas.

The preliminary investigation determined the suspect intentionally rammed into a covert DPD vehicle and took off.

The driver got onto the Tollway, and officers eventually caught up with the suspect when he crashed into several vehicles in the northbound lanes in the 7200 block of Lemmon Avenue, went over the center median, crashing in the southbound lanes.

The suspect got out of the truck and fled toward a private hangar area.

A Patrol officer ran after the suspect and the suspect shot at the officer. The officer returned fire, hitting the suspect in the leg.

The suspect was taken into custody and to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.

Cedar Hill police shoot active shooter after he opened fire at medical clinic, police say

On Tuesday, 07/25/2023 at approximately 12:17 pm, Cedar Hill police officers were dispatched to 950 E. Belt Line Road in reference to an active shooter inside a medical building.

Cedar Hill officers arrived at the location at approximately 12:21 p.m. and observed a victim of a gunshot wound on the ground in front of the clinic. Officers also observed a black male with a long gun leaving the scene in a black Chrysler four-door vehicle.

At approximately 12:22 p.m., the suspect vehicle was involved in a crash in the 700 block of E. Belt Line Road. Multiple officers on the scene of the crash observed the suspect inside the vehicle with a long gun, and five officers discharged their firearms at the suspect.

The suspect was removed from the vehicle, and officers began life-saving measures until medics arrived. The suspect was transported to Methodist Dallas Medical Center, where he is currently in critical condition.

One physician from the medical building was injured and was transported to the hospital in stable condition. One civilian driver of a vehicle was involved in the crash and was transported with minor injuries.

A criminal investigation will be conducted by the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office and the District Attorney’s office. An administrative investigation will be conducted by the Professional Standards Division of the Cedar Hill Police Department. Footage from multiple car and body-worn cameras will be used in the investigation. All officers involved will be placed on routine administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

Man arrested for three Dallas murders

The Dallas Police Department continues to investigate three homicides in Southwest Dallas.

On April 22, 2023, Dallas Police found a 60-year-old woman deceased in the 200 block of Sante Fe Avenue. On June 24, 2023, Dallas Police found a 25-year-old woman deceased in the same area.

On July 15, 2023, Dallas Police found a 31-year-old woman deceased in the 800 block of Brazos Street.

On July 19, 2023, Dallas Police arrested Oscar Sanchez Garcia, 25, in connection to these three homicides in Southwest Dallas.

The preliminary investigation identified Oscar Sanchez Garcia as the suspect through evidence gathered by detectives. He will be charged with three counts of Murder.

The investigation has identified that at least two of the victims have possible ties to prostitution.

The investigations into all three cases are ongoing.

Pedestrian fatally struck on 287 in Fort Worth

On Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 6:05am, Fort Worth PD units were dispatched to Martin Luther King Freeway (Highway 287) near Berry Street on a major accident involving a pedestrian.

A female walking in a lane of traffic was struck by a vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene.

All lanes of the freeway were shut down for several hours while police investigated the scene.

No charges have been announced.

One killed in Grand Prairie crash on I-30

The Grand Prairie Police Department is investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred today, Saturday, July 22nd, in the 1900 block of E IH‐30.

At approximately 4:10 A.M., a pickup truck towing a utility trailer was traveling eastbound on IH‐30 when the vehicle crashed into the TEXpress lane attenuator. The driver, a single occupant, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The identity of the deceased will be released by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office once the next of kin has been notified.

This collision remains under investigation.

One killed, one seriously hurt in Keller crash

At around 1:00am this morning, Keller Fire Rescue and Police responded to the intersection of Highway 377 and Mt. Gilead Road in reference to a major accident.

Police say a passenger car was traveling at a high rate of speed when it struck the back of an 18-wheeler.

The driver of the car was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The passenger of the car was transported to a Grapevine hospital with a serious injury.

The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.

Lanes of 377 were reopened around 7:00am following Keller PD’s accident investigation.

19-year-old motorcyclist killed in Parker County crash

On Wednesday, July 19, at approximately 8:50pm, several agencies responded to a major accident on Farm to Market Road 3028 near Bennett Road.

DPS authorities say a vehicle was traveling eastbound on FM 3028 and a motorcyclist was traveling westbound. As the motorcyclist entered a curve in the roadway, he veered into the oncoming lane and hit the driver’s side of the eastbound vehicle.

The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene. He has been identified as a 19-year-old man from Mineral Wells.

A man and woman inside the vehicle were not hurt.

The crash remains under investigation.
