Teen killed, deputy among injured after 8-vehicle crash on I35E in Dallas

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatality accident that occurred during the evening hours of Saturday night along Interstate 35E north of Interstate 30.

Two Dallas County Sheriff’s Office deputies were headed to Parkland Hospital to check on a driver from a previous fatal crash when they came upon a stalled vehicle along northbound I35E north of I30.

One of the deputies was utilizing his patrol vehicle to push the stalled vehicle off the highway while the second deputy was blocking traffic for them. As the deputy was pushing the stalled vehicle off the highway, a passenger vehicle lost control and struck the deputy blocking traffic. Impact of the collision caused two people from the passenger vehicle to be ejected. A third person inside the vehicle, identified as a 17-year-old male, was pronounced deceased.

A total of eight vehicles were involved in the collision, including both of the Dallas County Sheriffs vehicles.

Both individuals ejected from the passenger car were transported to Parkland Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The deputy was transported to a local hospital for treatment of leg and neck injuries.

Charges have not yet been filed as authorities still determine who was driving the vehicle.

The accident remains under investigation.

Man killed while helping stranded friend on I35E near Downtown Dallas

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatality accident that occurred Saturday evening along a busy stretch of Interstate 35E in the downtown Dallas area.

At around 8:45pm, a man was helping a friend whose vehicle was disabled on the highway. While the man was between his own vehicle and the disabled vehicle, a juvenile driver collided into the vehicles, hitting and pinning the man.

Paramedics and DSO deputies responded to the scene, but the man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The juvenile driver and a juvenile occupant were both transported to Parkland Hospital with stable injuries.

Detectives are still investigating what caused the crash.

Young child shot in vehicle brought to downtown jail, Fort Worth police say

The Fort Worth Police Department is currently investigating the shooting of a 3-year-old child.

At around 2:51pm, a man walked into the Tarrant County in downtown Fort Worth holding his young daughter who had been shot. The man stated she was shot while riding in a vehicle.

Police determined the incident likely occurred in the Stockyards area.

Paramedics transported the girl to Cook Children’s Hospital in unknown condition.

Expect police activity in the area of 100 N Lamar Street while Fort Worth police investigate this incident.

Intoxicated driver runs red light, kills off duty Euless police officer in Lake Worth

The Lake Worth Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred earlier this afternoon at the intersection of Boat Club Road and Rocky Point Trail.

At around 1:30pm, emergency personnel from Lake Worth FD and PD along with Fort Worth FD and Medstar EMS responded to the intersection for a two-vehicle crash.

First arriving units reported two vehicles with major damage. One of the drivers was pronounced deceased at the scene. A passenger and two children were also transported to area hospitals with serious injuries. The deceased driver has been identified as a Euless police detective, Alejandro “Alex” Cervantes.

The driver who caused the crash, a 26-year-old man, attempted to run away after the crash, but was apprehended. Officers determined he was under the influence at the time of the collision. He ran a red light and t-bonded the Euless officer and his family. He has been charged with Intoxication Manslaughter and three counts of Intoxication Assault.

Two men killed in crash near Downtown Dallas

The Dallas Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred overnight on S. Good Latimer Expressway near I-30.

At 2:16am, Dallas police and firefighters were called to the scene of a fiery crash at the listed location. A BMW was traveling south on Good Latimer Expressway and had just crossed over I-30 when the driver lost control and hit a building and power pole. The vehicle then burst into flames.

Both the driver and an occupant inside the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene by Dallas Fire Rescue paramedics.

No identities have been released as next of kin is pending.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Young driver killed in crash with semi cab along I-30 in Dallas

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatality accident that occurred overnight along eastbound I-30 near Grand Avenue in Dallas.

At around 3:50am, Dallas County sheriffs deputies were assisting a motorist on the service road when they observed the driver of a pickup truck traveling at high speeds. Officials say the driver veered to the far right and crashed into the back of an 18-wheeler cab.

Deputies quickly assisted, but found the driver trapped and unresponsive in the vehicle. Dallas Fire Rescue also responded, but the driver was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics.

Authorities have identified the driver as a 19-year-old man. Two occupants inside the 18-wheeler cab were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

NEW: Paramedic killed in Hunt County crash involving ambulance

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatality accident involving an ambulance that occurred this evening along Highway 69 in Hunt County.

Just before 7:00pm, multiple agencies and departments were dispatched to a major crash on Highway 69 just north of Greenville.

Authorities say an 18-wheeler was reversing across a lane of travel when the ambulance hit the semi truck. The driver of the ambulance was pronounced deceased at the scene. The other crew member was transported by helicopter to a nearby hospital in stable condition.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.

DPS says the ambulance was from the UT Health System that serves a majority of east Texas and surrounding areas.

Engaged couple killed in Fort Worth motorcycle crash

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred this weekend in east Fort Worth.

At 12:43am, emergency responders were dispatched to the area of E. Lancaster Avenue near East Loop 820 after a motorcycle and a pickup truck collided.

The passenger on the motorcycle, identified as a 28-year-old woman, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The operator of the motorcycle was transported to JPS Hospital, but pronounced deceased earlier that morning just after 10am. He has been identified as a 33-year-old man. Friends say the couple was engaged to be married.

Authorities say a passenger inside the pickup truck was also transported to a local hospital with injuries sustained in the crash.

At this point, police have not said who was at fault. The investigation is still ongoing.

Man struck, killed by vehicle while attempting to walk across 287 in Mansfield

The Mansfield Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred earlier this morning along southbound Highway 287 near Lone Star Road.

At around 4:30am, a driver traveling southbound on 287 called 9-1-1 to report he had hit something in the roadway. It was too dark outside to see, but he believed it was a deer.

First arriving units found a man laying in the center median of the roadway with serious injuries. Paramedics pronounced him deceased on the scene.

Investigators believe the man was attempting to walk across the highway when he was fatally struck by the vehicle.

The pedestrian has been identified as a 42-year-old man from Kennedale.

The driver remained at the scene after the collision. He is cooperating with investigators. No charges have been filed at this time.

Driver dies after fiery crash in front of Arlington fire station

The Arlington Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred overnight in the 2000 block of West Green Oaks Blvd near Ron McAndrew Drive.

Just after 1:30pm, Arlington PD, FD, and EMS were called to a single vehicle crash on West Green Oaks Blvd in front of Arlington Fire Station #14.

Investigators say the driver of a vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when he drove up onto the center median and hit a tree. The impact of the collision caused the vehicle to burst into flames.

First responders pulled the man out of the burning car. He was transported to Medical City Arlington, but died of his injuries shortly after arriving at the facility.

The driver has been identified as a 39-year-old man from Fort Worth.

The accident remains under investigation.
