Armed man killed in officer involved shooting at Irving hospital

The Irving Police Department is investigating an officer involved shooting that occurred Wednesday evening at Baylor Scott and White Hospital, 1901 N. MacArthur Blvd.

At around 7:00pm, a 34-year-old man arrived at the hospital’s ER for an undisclosed medical reason. He was taken into one of the emergency rooms for evaluation. About an hour later, a staff member checked on the man and reported unusual behavior and possession of a firearm. She notified a police officer at Baylor who also contacted an Irving police officer at the hospital on an unrelated matter.

When the two officers confronted the man about the weapon, he fired a single gunshot in the ER room. The officers attempted to get him to drop the weapon, but he pointed and fired at the officers. The officers returned fire, striking and killing him.

No officers were injured in the incident. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

Woman and young child killed in crash on I35E in Dallas

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatality accident that occurred Wednesday afternoon along the northbound lanes of I35E near 635.

At 4:16pm, Dallas Fire-Rescue and Dallas County sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene and located two vehicles involved in a collision.

Officials say the driver of a pickup truck was traveling at a high rate of speed when she attempted to make a lane change, but struck the back of a passenger car. The collision caused the pickup truck to lose control and hit a pillar.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 34-year-old woman, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Dallas paramedics transported a 7-year-old passenger of the truck to Children’s Dallas hospital, but he was pronounced deceased.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Man and woman found shot dead in Dallas apartment; kids unharmed

The Dallas Police Department is investigating a double homicide that occurred around noon today in the northeast Dallas area.

Dallas police were called to an apartment complex in the 6000 block of Ridgecrest Road at 12:12pm. When they arrived, officers located an adult man and adult woman deceased inside one of the apartment units. Two young children under the age of 5 were unharmed.

Officials are working to determine the motive behind the killing. No suspect(s) has been arrested.

The investigation is ongoing.

One person killed in crash near Crowley

The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatality accident that occurred early this morning along Old Granbury Road near Floyd Hampton Road.

Emergency responders from Crowley FD/EMS and Tarrant County sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene around 4:57am this morning to find two pickup trucks involved in a collision.

One of the drivers was pronounced deceased at the scene. The other was extricated from the vehicle and transported by ambulance to JPS for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.

Officers were not pursuing and did not spike vehicle before fatal crash, Irving police say

The Irving Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred over the weekend in the 600 block of North Belt Line Road near Conflans Road.

Police say two vehicles were traveling northbound on Belt Line when they collided, sending one of the vehicles into a spin. This vehicle crashed off the roadway and hit a tree. The violent impact from the collision caused the vehicle to wrap around the tree.

A passenger inside the car was pronounced deceased. The driver was not seriously hurt. A third passenger sustained serious injuries.

The identities have not yet been released, but police say everyone inside the vehicle was in the 18-19 year old range.

A post circulating on social media indicated Irving police spiked the vehicle immediately before the crash occurred. Irving Police Department confirms their officers were not in pursuit and did not use the tire deflation system on either vehicle.

Police are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.

Witnesses say driver ran red light before hitting, killing motorcyclist in McKinney

The McKinney Police Department has arrested a 25-year-old driver and charged him with Manslaughter after a crash yesterday afternoon.

At around 3:45pm, McKinney FD/EMS and Police were called to the Sam Rayburn Tollway service road (121) and Stacy Road for a major accident involving a motorcyclist. Paramedics transported the critically injured rider to a local hospital, but he was pronounced deceased.

Officials interviewed witnesses to the crash who say a driver was traveling at high speeds and ran a red light immediately before the crash. The vehicle collided with the motorcycle in the intersection, causing the rider to be ejected.

Police determined the driver of the vehicle was at fault. He was arrested and is facing a charge of Manslaughter.

The crash remains under investigation.

Intoxicated driver runs red light, kills another driver in Arlington crash

The Arlington Police Department is investigating a fatality crash that occurred earlier this morning at E. Arbrook Blvd and Collins Street.

At around 9:49am, Arlington FD, PD, and EMS responded to the scene and located two vehicles with major damage.

Officials say the driver of a sports-type passenger vehicle was traveling eastbound on Arbrook at a high rate of speed when he ran a red light and t-boned a second vehicle, causing the second vehicle to overturn.

The driver of the second vehicle, a 22-year-old man, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver who caused the crash, a 23-year-old man, was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police will arrest him for Intoxication Manslaughter.

The crash remains under investigation.

Two people killed in McKinney crash

The McKinney Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred on Friday evening.

At around 7:00pm, McKinney Fire/EMS and Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 380 and Stonebridge Drive.

Authorities say the driver of a sedan had slowed approaching a yellow light at the intersection when the vehicle was rear-ended by a pickup truck. Four people inside the sedan were transported to area hospitals, but two of them were pronounced deceased from their injuries. They were both passengers in the backseat of the vehicle.

The driver of the pickup truck was not seriously hurt. He is being interviewed by police. No arrests or charges have been filed.

Burleson police investigating multiple related crime scenes; one shot dead, one injured

The Burleson Police Department is investigating a series of incidents that occurred around 6:00pm in the area of Wilshire Blvd (Highway 174) and I35W.

At around 6:00pm, Burleson PD and FD along with MedStar EMS were dispatched to a shooting in the area of Wilshire Blvd and Hillery Street. The situation continued up Wilshire and eventually ended in the area of the Auto Nation dealership on I35W near Alsbury. One shooting victim was pronounced deceased at the scene near Wilshire and Hillery. The second victim, reportedly found near the Auto Nation, was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

There was also a car accident related to this shooting, but details as to their relation have not yet been released. No one was seriously hurt in the crash.

Police are investigating at least two scenes related to this incident. The circumstances are still under investigation. Officials say no suspect is in custody.

Fight leads to shooting at north Dallas Dave and Busters; one dead

The Dallas Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred Wednesday night at the Dave and Busters entertainment venue off N. Central Expressway and Walnut Hill Lane.

At 11:17pm, Dallas police were called to the scene and located a 28-year-old male deceased from a gunshot wound.

Officials believe the incident began as a fight and escalated to gunshots. Immediately following the shooting, the suspect fled the scene. Police are still looking for them.
