5 alarm fire in northeast Dallas destroys multiple buildings

At around 5:30pm this evening, firefighters from the Dallas Fire-Rescue were called to an apartment fire at the Forest Cove Apartments, 9600 Forest Lane, in northeast Dallas.
Firefighters arrived shortly thereafter to find heavy flames through the roof of the two-story apartment building. The fire quickly spread to three neighboring buildings, leading to the request of 5 alarms. Around 100 firefighters responded to the scene.
Luckily, no one was injured in the fire, although one resident had to be taken to the hospital after suffering an unrelated medical emergency.
The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time. At least three of the four buildings are a total loss.
