5 alarm fire in northeast Dallas destroys multiple buildings

At around 5:30pm this evening, firefighters from the Dallas Fire-Rescue were called to an apartment fire at the Forest Cove Apartments, 9600 Forest Lane, in northeast Dallas.

Firefighters arrived shortly thereafter to find heavy flames through the roof of the two-story apartment building. The fire quickly spread to three neighboring buildings, leading to the request of 5 alarms. Around 100 firefighters responded to the scene.

Luckily, no one was injured in the fire, although one resident had to be taken to the hospital after suffering an unrelated medical emergency.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time. At least three of the four buildings are a total loss.

Husband and wife killed in Frisco crash

The Frisco Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that claimed the lives of a husband and wife.

At around 1:30pm yesterday (Saturday) afternoon, Frisco Fire/EMS and Police all responded to a major accident on southbound FM 423 at Del Webb Blvd. The crash involved three vehicles.

The driver and passenger of one of the vehicles were pronounced deceased on the scene. They have been identified as a 79-year-old man and 76-year-old woman of Frisco who were husband and wife.

Three other people were transported to a local hospital with injuries.

Police have not released the cause of the accident. An investigation is ongoing.

All southbound lanes of FM 423 were closed yesterday while Frisco police conducted their investigation.

Two killed in fiery Dallas crash

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatality accident that occurred overnight Saturday along Interstate 35E at Walton Walker Blvd.

At around 3:00am, Dallas Fire Rescue and Dallas County sheriffs deputies responded to the crash along southbound Walton Walker Blvd at Interstate 35E. Engine 50 arrived to find one vehicle wrecked and on fire.

Sheriffs deputies arrived as firefighters were putting out the blaze. The bodies of two occupants, a man and a woman, were found inside the vehicle after firefighters contained the flames.

Officials believe the driver was traveling south on Walton Walker Blvd when he attempted to quickly crossover onto Interstate 35E. The vehicle struck the lane divider and burst into flames. The two were unable to escape.

The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office will make positive identification of the bodies.

Multiple people injured in fiery crash in The Colony

This is an update regarding the serious crash that occurred on Friday evening at the intersection of State Highway 121 and Standridge Drive in The Colony.

According to unofficial eyewitness information, one person reported a vehicle was traveling at high speeds right before the collision and may have been trying to beat the light. The impact of the crash sent debris all over the roadway and caused two vehicles to catch fire.

Three people were transported to area hospitals with injuries. As of now, no one is believed to have any life threatening injuries, according to The Colony Police.

Driver killed in rollover crash along I35E in Dallas

The Dallas County Sheriffs Office is investigating a fatality accident that occurred around 1:45am Saturday morning along I35E near Mockingbird Lane.

Officials say the driver of a pickup truck attempted to exit the highway at high speeds, hit the curb, and lost control. The vehicle overturned and went airborne, eventually striking a parked vehicle.

The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. A passenger was transported to a local hospital in stable condition. Dallas Fire Rescue extricated at least one person trapped in the pickup truck.

The accident remains under investigation.

NEW: Two people seriously hurt after airplane crashes on approach to Bridgeport Airport

The Texas Department of Public Safety and FAA are currently investigating a plane crash near the Bridgeport Airport in Wise County.

At around 3:30pm today, the pilot of a Beechcraft airplane was coming in to land on the runway when the plane clipped trees on approach. The plane crashed just short of the runway.

Two men inside the airplane, identified as a 78-year-old and a 76-year-old, were both taken to DFW-area hospitals with serious injuries. One of the men was airlifted from the scene by Air Evac Lifeteam 68 helicopter.

Bridgeport FD, Wise County EMS, and Wise County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene for a major accident. It appears two vehicles were involved in a collision on Highway 380 after the plane crash. No major injuries reported.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will lead the investigation.

Vehicle collides with golf cart near Joshua; one person killed

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatality accident that occurred earlier today in a residential area east of Joshua.

At around 1:30pm this afternoon, Joshua Fire Department, AMR, and law enforcement were called to the 1600 block of Royalwood Circle just off County Road 803 and FM 917.

Officials say a 69-year-old man driving a homemade golf cart was traveling westbound on Royalwood Circle when an oncoming vehicle veered into the path and hit the golf cart head-on.

The man was pronounced deceased at the scene. Records indicate he did not live far from the crash site.

There were no other injuries reported. Troopers are still investigating what led the driver to swerve into the oncoming lane and cause the crash.

Man walking on I-30 struck, killed by 18-wheeler, Garland police say

The Garland Police Department and Fire/EMS Department responded to a major accident involving a pedestrian around 4:00am this morning along Interstate 30 near Rosehill Road.

Police say a 60-year-old man was walking in the road when he was struck by an 18-wheeler. One semi swerved to avoid hitting the man, but a second truck was unable to avoid the collision.

Garland paramedics transported the man to a local hospital, but he was pronounced deceased.

Officials have not stated why he walking along the highway. He was from Garland.

The accident remains under investigation.

Man fatally struck by vehicle near Alliance Airport in Fort Worth

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred overnight along the Interstate 35W service road near Alliance Blvd.

At 12:33am this morning, Fort Worth FD, PD, and MedStar EMS responded to the scene after there were reports that a person had been struck by a vehicle.

Officials say a driver was headed to work and traveling northbound on the service road when he struck the man. The area was not well lit and the driver did not see the man in time. No charges reported.

The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. He has been identified as a 24-year-old man from Dallas.

The accident remains under investigation.

Driver killed in crash with semi along Mountain Creek Lake toll bridge in Dallas

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatality accident that occurred yesterday (Monday) afternoon at around 12:30pm in the 7200 block of W. Kiest Blvd at the Mountain Creek Lake toll bridge.

A preliminary investigation of the scene reveals a driver in a minivan was traveling westbound on the toll bridge when they veered into the oncoming path of an 18-wheeler traveling eastbound. Both vehicles collided head-on.

The driver of the minivan was pronounced deceased. The driver of the 18-wheeler was not seriously hurt.

Dallas Fire-Rescue Engine 50 and Rescue 50 responded with Dallas PD and DPS Troopers.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
