Motorcyclist killed in DeSoto high speed crash

The DeSoto Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred Friday night along E. Parkerville Road.

Authorities say a motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed when he t-boned a sedan.

Impact of the collision caused severe damage to the vehicle.

The rider was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Lanes of E. Parkerville Road were closed Friday evening while police investigated the scene.

One person killed in crash on I-30 in Dallas

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatality accident that occurred overnight along westbound I-30 near Westmoreland Road.

At around 1:45am, Dallas Fire Rescue and DSO deputies were called to the two vehicle crash with reported extrication.

Paramedics transported a woman to a local hospital in stable condition. Another individual, identified as a 38-year-old man, was pronounced deceased on the scene.

Lanes of Interstate 30 were closed while DSO investigated the scene.

Three people killed after vehicle vaults off bridge, hits warehouse, and catches fire in west Dallas

The Dallas Police Department is investigating a severe crash that occurred late last night in west Dallas that killed three people and critically hurt two others.

At around 11:40pm, Dallas police were called to the 300 block of W. Mockingbird Lane at the Westmoreland Road bridge over the Trinity River after a high speed crash involving two vehicles. Dallas Fire Rescue also responded to a possible structure fire in the area.

When emergency crews arrived, they located two vehicles with significant damage and both on fire.

Traffic investigators say the two vehicles were traveling northbound on Westmoreland Road at the high rate of speed when both collided, causing one of the vehicles to vault off the bridge guardrail and hit a nearby warehouse. The other vehicle lost control and hit two light poles. Both vehicles burst into flames.

Three people inside the car that vaulted off the bridge were pronounced deceased at the scene. Two people in the other vehicle were transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Teenager drowns while swimming at Lake Ray Roberts

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Division is investigating a drowning that occurred at a Lake Ray Roberts swimming area.

Yesterday (Thursday) at approximately 1:30pm, multiple emergency responders were called to the Lake Ray Roberts State Park Isle Du Bois swimming beach after an individual went missing while swimming.

TPWD Game Wardens along with Denton County Sheriff’s Office, State Park Police, Pilot Point Fire Department, Pilot Point Police Department, US Army Corps of Engineers Rangers, and Lewisville Fire Department Dive Team all responded to search for the victim.

Dive team members utilized special SONAR equipment to locate the victim’s body just before 4:00pm.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim as a 17-year-old male from Pilot Point. Authorities say he was swimming with friends when he went under and did not resurface.

“Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with the Pilot Point community during this time,” said the Texas Parks and Wildlife in a statement.

UPDATE: Driver of 18-wheeler dies after crashing into bridge in Plano

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatality accident that occurred around 5:00pm this evening along the 121 service road at Ohio Drive.

At 5:16pm, Plano Fire Rescue, Police Department, and DPS Troopers were called to the scene after an 18-wheeler collided with the Ohio Drive overpass. When firefighters arrived, they found the driver heavily trapped inside of a nearly demolished 18-wheeler cab.

An extended extrication was required to free the driver. PHI Med 10 helicopter was called to the scene and landed on Ohio Drive.

The flight crew airlifted him to nearby Presbyterian Hospital in Plano, but he was pronounced deceased.

A preliminary investigation of the scene reveals the 18-wheeler was traveling northbound on Sam Rayburn Tollway when, for an as of yet undetermined reason, the driver lost control, went down an embankment, across the service road and into the bridge wall.

The investigation is ongoing.

Couple arrested for murder after killing woman at Garland home

The Garland Police Department has arrested Kvaughandre Presley and Gabriela Liliana Torres after they allegedly shot and killed a 60-year-old woman during the burglary of a Garland home.

Police say the woman was helping family move into the house when both suspects entered through the garage to commit a burglary. They shot her multiple times, leaving her for dead while they burglarized the home.

Emergency responders were called to the house, located in the 700 block of Briar Way, around 7:00pm on Tuesday evening. The suspects had already fled from the house, burglarizing other homes and vehicles in the neighborhood. At one point, police say the male suspect pointed a gun at a homeowner, committing yet another felony.

This morning (Thursday), they were both arrested for Murder. Both suspects are in the Garland jail.

Young man street racing killed in Carrollton crash

The Carrollton Police Department has released additional information regarding the fatality accident last night at Trinity Mills Road and Willowgate Lane.

Traffic investigators say a 19-year-old driver was racing his friend in another car when the crash occurred. The young man lost control of the car and hit a tree near the Briarview Senior Living.

His friends in the other vehicle were not injured. The driver of that vehicle is cooperating with police.

Lanes of Trinity Mills were closed from around 8:00pm until 2:30am while investigators conducted their investigation.

“Street racing is punishable under Texas Transportation Code Section 545.420 as a second degree felony when it involves serious death or injury,” noted the Carrollton Police Department. Violators could face up to 20 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Stolen vehicle suspect shot dead during argument at Oak Lawn business

The Dallas Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Tuesday afternoon at a business in the 3200 block of N. Fitzhugh Avenue at Travis Street.

According to Dallas police, a stolen vehicle suspect and the vehicle owner had gotten into an argument in the parking lot of the Beverly’s Bistro and Bar. During the argument, the stolen vehicle suspect used the car to ram the other vehicle driven by the owner. The vehicle owner then pulled out a gun and shot the suspect.

The man was transported to a local hospital and pronounced deceased.

The vehicle owner was interviewed by detectives with the Homicide Unit and was released pending a referral to a Dallas County grand jury.

Police searching for suspect who shot, killed man at Arlington park

The Arlington Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred yesterday (Sunday) afternoon Helen Wessler Park, 2200 Greenway Street, in east Arlington.

According to authorities, two man agreed to meet up at the park to fight. When both arrived, one of the men brandished a gun and shot the other man multiple times. He then drove off.

The victim was taken by personal vehicle to Medical City Arlington, but he was pronounced deceased. He has been identified as a 21-year-old man.

Police are looking for the suspect, who they say is a Hispanic man in his 20’s.

Man stoned, killed by landscaping bricks after shooting multiple people at Fort Worth house

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a multiple victim shooting that occurred overnight at a house in the Como neighborhood of west Fort Worth.

Fort Worth police were called to the house in the 5600 block of Shiloh Drive at around 1:00am this morning after reports of a shooting.

Detectives learned that a man attending a party at the house became upset for some reason and left. He later returned with another person and engaged in a verbal argument with the partygoers. During the argument, the man shot and injured another person at the party. Other attendees immediately started chasing the man after he shot their friend.

As the partygoers chased down the suspect, he fired multiple shots at them, hitting at least two other people. They started throwing landscaping bricks at the suspect, eventually pinning him to the ground and hitting him several more times with at least one brick.

When paramedics arrived on the scene, the suspect had died from his blunt force injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. At least three people were shot, one fatally. Others are seeking treatment.

A handgun was recovered from the scene.

Homicide detectives are still investigating the motive behind the incident.
