Man critically hurt after fight leads to shooting at Fort Worth QT

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened this afternoon at the QuikTrip gas station and convenience store, 6601 Brentwood Stair Road and the E. Loop 820 service road in east Fort Worth.

Just before 2:30pm, Fort Worth police officers were dispatched to the scene after 9-1-1 calls came in indicating a man was shot. Officers found one man shot in the arm and chest. MedStar EMS transported him to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The victim is listed in critical condition, according to Fort Worth police.

Detectives believe the shooting occurred as two men were engaged in an altercation. After the shooting, the suspect fled the scene.

The incident remains under investigation.

One person killed in multi-vehicle accident in Fort Worth

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred overnight along eastbound Interstate 20 near Campus Drive in south Fort Worth.

Police say a multi-vehicle crash occurred along the highway at around 2:45am this morning. One of the vehicles overturned.

The driver of the overturned vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene. All other drivers were treated and released.

All lanes of eastbound Interstate 20 were closed while police investigated the scene. Police have not released any other details.

One person killed in two-vehicle crash along I-20 in Dallas

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatality accident that occurred overnight along Interstate 20 near Polk Street.

Around 2:45am, Dallas Fire Rescue and Dallas County sheriffs deputies were called to the scene on eastbound Interstate 20 east of Polk Street. Two vehicles were involved in a collision. Dallas firefighters had already shut down the highway and were attending to injured persons.

Traffic investigators say a partially disabled SUV was in the far right lane when the driver swerved into the center right lane. A vehicle in the center right lane rear-ended the SUV at high speeds.

The driver of the SUV was extricated by firefighters, but pronounced deceased on the scene. The other driver was transported to a hospital in stable condition.

The crash remains under investigation.

Driver killed in fiery crash near downtown Dallas

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a serious crash that left one person dead overnight along I35E in the downtown Dallas area.

At around 2:20am this morning, Dallas Fire Rescue and Dallas County sheriffs deputies were called to the scene of a crash along southbound I35E at Exit 428B (Reunion Blvd area). When personnel arrived, they located one vehicle had collided with the lane divider from the exit ramp to the highway.

When Dallas firefighters put out the fire, they found one occupant deceased inside the vehicle.

Traffic investigators believe the vehicle had collided with another, causing the driver to lose control and hit the attenuator. The attenuator penetrated the vehicle and caused significant damage.

The identity of the victim has not yet been disclosed. The crash remains under investigation.

Arlington police looking for driver who hit, killed elderly man checking his mail

The Arlington Police Department is looking for the driver responsible for hitting and killing an elderly man yesterday evening as he was checking his mailbox.

At around 4:30pm, multiple emergency responders were called to the 900 block of E. Timberview Lane after a 9-1-1 caller reported a man was laying in the road. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics.

Officials spoke with the man’s wife who said he went out to check his mail and did not return. After several minutes, she went outside and noticed the firefighters and police a few doors down. Detectives have not ruled out the possibility that the car may have dragged the man down the street.

“The department is asking neighbors to check their home surveillance systems for possible video footage from 4:00pm until 4:30pm around the crash area, including Collins Street and E. Timberview Lane.”

Texas law requires a driver to stop and render aid during crashes that cause injury or death.

One killed, one injured in shooting at Frisco apartment complex

The Frisco Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Friday evening at an apartment complex along Stonebrook Parkway.

Just before 7:30pm last night, Frisco police were dispatched to a “weapons call” at the Stewart Creek Apartments, 7549 Stonebrook Parkway. It was reported via 9-1-1 that a masked suspect had a gun and threatened to kill someone else. Multiple gunshots were heard as well.

Frisco police officers arrived at the scene within minutes. One person was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics. Another person was transported to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries.

One suspect was taken into custody. Police have not yet released a motive in the killing.

The incident remains under investigation.

Racing driver causes fatal crash in Dallas

The Dallas Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred last night (Friday) at approximately 6:00pm in the 8700 block of Lake June Road at McGregor Street.

Officials say a man in a white van was stopped on McGregor Street and attempted to make a left hand turn onto westbound Lake June when two vehicles, a passenger car and a Dodge Charger, were racing at a high rate of speed on eastbound Lake June Road. The speeding Charger hit the van as the driver attempted the left turn, causing the van to flip over.

The 70-year-old man driving the van was transported to a local hospital and is in critical condition. A female passenger in the van was also transported to a local hospital, but pronounced deceased.

One of the racing drivers was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Both drivers, a 27-year-old male and 29-year-old male, were arrested and booked into jail on two felony charges: Racing causing a Death and Racing causing Serious Bodily Injury.

Owner gunned down in robbery at east Fort Worth food mart

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred Thursday night at a food mart on the east side of town.

At around 7:30pm on Thursday night, a patron walked into the A-C Food Mart, located at 3601 E. Rosedale Street, and found a person laying on the ground inside the store. The patron immediately called 9-1-1.

Paramedics pronounced the individual deceased on the scene. The identity has not yet been released, but police say the victim was the owner of the store.

Detectives believe this was a robbery that turned into a homicide. At this time, the suspect is still on the loose. Fort Worth PD is asking for the public’s help in solving this murder.

Worker killed at residential construction site in Frisco

The Frisco Police Department is investigating a fatality incident involving a construction worker at a residential construction site in the 10500 block of Big Horn Trail.

Multiple emergency responders were called to the scene after a construction worker was hit by a skid-steer piece of equipment, according to police. Paramedics pronounced him deceased on the scene.

The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation. It occurred around 11:40am this morning.

Man struck, killed while walking along Arlington roadway

The Arlington Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred on Wednesday evening along Forest Edge Drive near Lynnwood Drive.

Just before 6:30pm, a driver traveling southbound on Forest Edge Drive struck a man who was walking south along the road. The man was wearing dark clothing and the sun had already set.

The driver called 9-1-1 and stopped to render aid after the collision. Paramedics responded to the scene, but pronounced him deceased. He has been identified as a 35-year-old man who lived not far from the scene.

Forest Edge Drive is known for being a heavily wooded and tight roadway. Lanes were closed while police investigated the scene.

Investigators say the driver was not speeding. No charges are expected.
