Two men killed in far north Fort Worth crash

On Friday, May 31, 2024, at 12:24 a.m., Fort Worth Fire Department, Police Department, and MedStar EMS were dispatched to a major accident at 3001 Eagle Parkway.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a collision involving a pickup truck and a semi-truck.

Two men were pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the semi-truck was transported to a local hospital as a precautionary measure.

The Fort Worth Police Traffic Investigation Unit (TIU) detectives have been assigned to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.

One person shot by Irving police after pursuit ends in crash

At approximately 1:40 am, Irving Police officers attempted a traffic stop near E State Hwy 114 WB and Spur 482 NB. The vehicle fled at a high rate of speed for a short distance before crashing, causing the vehicle to become disabled.

During the apprehension of the vehicle’s three occupants, an officer discharged their firearm. One individual, who also has a warrant for Resisting Arrest, Search, and Transportation, was struck and transported to a local hospital and is currently being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested for Evading Arrest, and the third individual was questioned at the scene and later
released. The officer was not injured.

When these incidents occur, it is standard procedure for the Irving Police Department to conduct a criminal and administrative investigation and the Dallas County Public Integrity Unit to conduct its own separate investigation. Those investigations are currently underway, and no further information will be released at this time.

Man shot, killed by neighbor in North Richland Hills, police say

At about 3:00pm, the North Richland Hills Communication Center received a 9-1-1 call reporting a shooting in the 7500 block of Windhaven Road. Upon arrival, officers located a 48-year-old male victim in the front yard of a residence with apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to Baylor Grapevine by NRHFD Medics where he was pronounced deceased.

The suspect, a 60-year-old male, was determined to be a neighbor and remained at the scene. The suspect was arrested and transported to the North Richland Hills Joint Detention Facility.

The identity and charges of the suspect are being withheld until he has been seen by a magistrate.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family.

This is still an active investigation and officers are still at the scene.

Motorcyclist killed in high speed crash along the Dallas North Tollway

At 2:06pm this afternoon, Dallas Fire Rescue, Dallas Police, and DPS Troopers responded to a major accident involving a motorcycle on northbound Dallas North Tollway near Northwest Highway.

When emergency responders arrived, they determined a motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed and made an unsafe lane change, striking the back of a box truck.

The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene. He has been identified as a 21-year-old man from Hunt County.

The driver of the box truck was not hurt.

All lanes of northbound Dallas North Tollway were closed while DPS investigated the scene.

Multiple people killed in crash north of Weatherford

At around 2:15pm today, multiple agencies in Parker County were dispatched to a major accident on North Farm to Market Road 51 near Friendship Road.

Multiple ambulances from PCHD EMS were sent to the scene along with one medical helicopter.

We have confirmed the crash claimed the lives of two people: a 29-year-old woman from Boyd and a 66-year-old man from Springtown. Others have been reported, but we are waiting on confirmation from DPS.

North FM 51 was closed for approximately 3.5 hours while DPS Troopers investigated the scene.

We are waiting on a release from DPS and will update information when available.

Several drownings reported at DFW-area lakes Sunday

Several drownings have been reported at DFW-area lakes throughout the day on Sunday, a busy time for boaters and swimmers enjoying the Memorial Day weekend.

Eagle Mountain Lake – A drowning was reported near Twin Points Park on Eagle Mountain Lake early Sunday afternoon. There is no update on the status of the victim.

Irving – A drowning was reported at a small pond in Irving near the 900 block of Meadow Creek Drive. One victim was recovered.

Lake Lewisville – Just after 4:00pm, several fire departments responded to a drowning victim near Westlake Park on Lake Lewisville. A drowning victim was recovered.

Wise County Park – At around 4:30pm, a drowning was reported at Lake Bridgeport near Wise County Park. One victim was reportedly recovered this evening.

Benbrook Lake – Cresson and Benbrook firefighters are actively searching for a drowning victim at Benbrook Lake. Activity has been reported along Peninsula Road in the state park.

These incidents will likely be investigated by the Texas Parks and Wildlife division. We will provide follow ups when released.

Woman fatally struck by intoxicated driver in Fort Worth

On Saturday, May 25th, 2024 at 12:26 a.m., Fort Worth FD, PD, and MedStar EMS were dispatched to the intersection of N.W. 28th Street and Prospect Avenue in reference to a major accident involving a pedestrian and vehicle.

During the course of the investigation, it was determined the female pedestrian was in traffic and struck by a vehicle. The female pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel. She has been identified as a 55-year-old Fort Worth woman.

The driver 23 year-old female driver was arrested for Intoxication Manslaughter with vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation.

24-year-old man arrested in connection to fatal Denton shooting

The Denton Police Department has arrested a man for Murder as part of an ongoing investigation into a fatal overnight shooting.

Riley Clowers, 24, of Denton, was arrested without incident on Saturday afternoon in Sanger.

Detectives determined that Clowers, as well as the unidentified male who died in the shooting, approached the male driver victim while he was in a pickup truck in the 3200 block of W. Windsor Drive.

The investigation revealed that the unidentified male entered the truck with a firearm, and the driver attempted to drive away. A struggle for the firearm occurred inside the vehicle, and both the driver and the unidentified male in the passenger seat were shot.

Detectives determined that Clowers committed the offense of Murder because he presented a weapon during the commission of an aggravated assault, and the unidentified male died during the commission of that assault.

Azle man killed in Wise County crash

On Tuesday at 1:09pm, multiple agencies in Wise County responded to a major accident involving an 18-wheeler and a sedan on Farm to Market Road 51 South at Highway 114.

A preliminary investigation determined a 70-year-old man was driving a sedan northbound on FM 51 and failed to yield the right of way to an 18-wheeler turning left onto FM 51 from westbound Highway 114.

The 70-year-old man was pronounced deceased at the scene. He has been identified as a resident of Azle.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was not seriously hurt.

Two drivers struck by vehicle after crash on Highway 360 in Fort Worth; one killed

On Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at approximately 6:17 a.m., Fort Worth Police Department, Fire Department, and MedStar EMS responded to a major accident near Highway 360 Northbound at Trinity Blvd. 

The initial call started as a two-vehicle accident. The drivers of both vehicles got out of their respective cars and were both struck by an oncoming vehicle. The driver of the oncoming vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation. 

One of the drivers that was hit was pronounced deceased on scene. He has been identified as a 37-year-old man from Arlington.

The other motorist was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition.

The Fort Worth Police Department Traffic Investigation Unit is currently working this case.
