UPDATE: Woman kills ex-boyfriend in shooting at Fort Worth’s Lake Como

On December 31, 2025, Fort Worth police officers were dispatched to the 3400 block of Lake Como Drive in reference to a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim on a walking bridge with apparent gunshot wounds to his torso.

Medical personnel rendered aid on scene; however, the victim did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

A preliminary investigation determined the male victim and the female shooter were previously involved in a dating relationship. The two were engaged in a verbal and physical altercation on the walking bridge. Prior to the shooting, the female attempted to have witnesses call 911 after she was allegedly assaulted.

The female was detained by officers and later transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the incident. Homicide detectives are actively investigating.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the official cause and manner of death and confirm the identity of the victim.

Man fatally struck by vehicle in Denton, police say

At approximately 6:21pm this evening, Denton Fire Department and Police Department responded to reports of an auto pedestrian crash in the 1100 block of E. University Drive (380) near Ruddell Street.

Denton EMS transported the man to a local hospital, but he was pronounced deceased.

A preliminary investigation has determined the man was not in a crosswalk at the time of the collision.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. No impairment of the driver is suspected.

Two killed, including 17-year-old in east Fort Worth shooting

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating two shooting incidents that occurred in East Fort Worth.

On Monday, December 29, 2025, at 2:13 p.m., East Division officers were working on a unrelated disturbance call when they heard shots coming from the 1500 block of Liberty Street. Upon arrival, officers located a victim on the ground with gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced deceased at the park. The Medical Examiner has identified the victim as a 17-year-old female.

While investigating that call another shooting call came in.

At approximately 2:18 p.m. officers were dispatched to the 1700 Block of Handley Dr. on a shooting call. Upon arrival, officers located a parked vehicle occupied with one victim with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to the hospital and pronounced deceased shortly after. The investigation revealed that another occupant from the vehicle fled on foot, he was later located in a residence nearby.

Detectives found that a group of 15-20 individuals had met at the city park located at 1500 Liberty St. and began to exchange words. A physical altercation ensued and unknown suspect began shooting a handgun at the victims.

At this time, evidence suggests the shootings are related, and there are no known threats to the community. Homicide Detectives are interviewing all possible witnesses and following leads to identify and apprehend the suspect.

Man and woman dead, son injured in shooting at Grand Prairie home

On Sunday, December 28th, at around 10:00 p.m., the Grand Prairie Police Department responded to a family violence
shooting in the 1600 block of Avenue B.

A 62-year-old male suspect shot his adult son in the face after he intervened in an argument between the suspect and his mother. The son survived the attack and fled to a neighbor who called 911 for help.

Officers established a perimeter at the residence and attempted to contact the suspect multiple times without success. Knowing the mother was inside, tactical officers forced open the front door at which time the suspect immediately began shooting a rifle at the officers. Officers, fearing for their lives, returned gunfire and the suspect fled towards the interior of the home.

Officers subsequently entered the residence and located the mother in a bedroom with apparent gunshot wounds. The
suspect was located inside a bathroom with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Both the mother and the suspect were pronounced deceased at the scene by Grand Prairie Fire Department medics.

A Grand Prairie officer was struck by ricochet gunfire and suffered minor injuries. That officer was transported to a local hospital for treatment. No other officers were injured.

The son was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.

The identity of the deceased will be released by the Dallas County Medical Examiners Officer once the next of kin has been notified.

Per departmental policy, the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office Officer‐Involved Shooting Team responded to the scene and is conducting an independent investigation. The Grand Prairie Police Department’s Office of Professional Standards will be conducting a concurrent administrative investigation.

UPDATE: Two men shot, one fatally, in accidental shooting, TCSO says

At approximately 11:45pm on 12/28/25, Tarrant County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a shooting call in the 7800 block of Townsend Rd.

When deputies arrived, they discovered one man shot in the leg, and another man shot in the foot.

They immediately began life saving measures and EMS transported them to area hospitals.

The male shot in the foot was treated and released.

The 39 year old man shot in the leg died at the hospital.

Details of what led to the shooting are still being investigated, but at this time preliminary information indicates this was an accidental shooting. 

McKinney police shoot, injure armed suspect inside home where two bodies were located

On Sunday, December 28th, at around 9:56am, McKinney Police officers responded to a residence in the 5300 block of Dunster Drive to conduct a welfare check. Family members had not heard from the residents in a few days, and asked police to check on them.

Officers made entry into the home through a back door and located two deceased individuals: a 73-year-old man and a 72-year-old woman. Both had been killed.

As officers cleared the house, they located a 34-year-old individual in one of the bedrooms and armed with a firearm.

Two officers fired their weapons, striking the individual. The individual was transported to a local hospital in stable condition, according to McKinney PD.

No officers were hurt.

The incident remains under investigation.

UPDATE: Tarrant County Sheriff’s deputies shoot man at home near Haslet

On Friday, December 26, 2025, at approximately 10:50 p.m., deputies with the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic disturbance call in the 14000 block of Oak Bark Drive in Haslet.

Upon arrival, one adult male was detained and an officer-involved shooting occurred involving a second adult male inside the residence. Deputies immediately began life-saving measures, and the injured male was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Scanner traffic indicated the victim was shot multiple times.

In accordance with department protocol, the deputies involved have been placed on administrative leave.

At the request of the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office, the Texas Rangers have been contacted to conduct an independent investigation. Upon completion, their findings will be presented to the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office. The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office will also conduct a separate administrative investigation.

UPDATE: Man killed by Lake Worth police after pursuit

On December 26, 2025, at approximately 6:56p.m., Lake Worth Patrol Officers initiated a traffic stop on a red Ford Ranger in the 6000 block of Lake Worth Boulevard. Officers learned the driver, a 56-year-old white male, had an active probation revocation warrant for solicitation of prostitution.

Before the driver could be taken into custody, he fled and led officers on a slow-speed pursuit through the city.

During the pursuit, the suspect caused serious damage to his vehicle, which caused it to become disabled behind the Walmart at 6360 Lake Worth Boulevard. There, the suspect exited the vehicle, took a shooting stance, and pointed what appeared to be a weapon towards officers.

Four Lake Worth Police Officers fired their weapons, striking the suspect. Officers immediately rendered aid until medical personnel arrived. The suspect was ultimately pronounced deceased at the scene.

No officers were injured.

The Texas Rangers have been asked to conduct an independent investigation of this incident and present their findings to the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney’s Office. Once the criminal investigation is complete, it will be presented to a Tarrant County grand jury for review. At the same time, the Lake Worth Police Department will conduct a separate, but parallel administrative investigation, which will examine department policy and procedure.

Man struck, killed in south Grand Prairie crash

On Christmas evening around 8:30pm, Grand Prairie Fire Department and Police Department responded to a major accident in the 5400 block of Lake Ridge Parkway.

Upon arrival, emergency personnel determined the incident involved an adult male struck by a vehicle. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by Grand Prairie paramedics.

Police say the man attempted to walk across Lake Ridge Parkway and was hit.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim as a 42-year-old man.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with police. No charges are expected.

The collision remains under investigation.

Woman killed in Flower Mound crash

At around 11:41am this morning, Highland Village FD and Flower Mound Police responded to a major accident in the 3500 block of Justin Road (FM 407) near Chinn Chapel.

Upon arrival, emergency responders located two vehicles involved in a wreck: a passenger car and a pickup truck.

Three people inside the passenger car were transported local hospitals. One of the passengers, a 78-year-old woman from nearby Lantana, was pronounced deceased at a Flower Mound hospital. The two other individuals inside the car were also transported to the hospital, one with serious injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck was not seriously hurt.

Lanes of FM 407 were closed for approximately three hours while Flower Mound PD investigated the scene.
