Mother arrested after killing 4-year-old daughter in Fort Worth
The Fort Worth Police Department has arrested a 34-year-old mother and charged her with Capital Murder in the stabbing death of her 4-year-old daughter.
Today at 11:35AM, Krystal Lewandowski called 9-1-1 to report her daughter was missing. She was last seen in the backyard of their residence in the 2100 block of Hurley Ave.
As the mother spoke to the 9-1-1 operator working to get a better description of the child, she said, “OK, maybe I should just tell you now. OK, so last night I was advised to slit her throat,” according to the official arrest warrant.
After confessing to killing her daughter, Lewandowski stated she had wrapped the child in a blanket and put her in a trash can in the backyard.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and located the deceased 4-year-old where the mother had told Dispatch.
“While on scene, Lewandowski made several statements about causing harm to her daughter because she was told to do so, or something worse would happen to her daughter,” reads the arrest warrant. She also stated in an interview that she “saved” her daughter and was preventing something worse from happening to her.
The crime occurred last night, during the evening hours of August 23rd. Another child was home at the time of the incident. The sibling has been removed by CPS.
Fort Worth PD obtained an arrest warrant and booked her into the Fort Worth jail just before 8:30PM this evening. She has been charged with Capital Murder.
The investigation is ongoing at this time.
