American Airlines flight steers off taxiway at DFW Airport; no injuries

An American Airlines airplane suffered a minor steering issue this morning, causing the plane to steer off the taxiway and into the grassy median at the Dallas – Fort Worth International Airport.

A statement from American Airlines says Flight 3431, which had just landed from Manhattan, Kansas, successfully landed at DFW Airport and was in the process of taxiing to the gate, when a steering issue occurred. This issue caused the plane to leave the pavement.

An emergency response from the DFW Airport Department of Public Safety was dispatched, but all was found to be OK.

There were no injuries on board the aircraft. A line of buses carried passengers from the plane to their gate.

American Airlines’ maintenance team is inspecting the airplane to evaluate the issue. Envoy Air is the operator.
