Man killed in Denton shooting; suspects arrested for Murder

The Denton Police Department has arrested two individuals in connection with an overnight shooting that left one man dead.

At approximately 12:41 a.m., officers responded to the 400 block of E. Prairie Street in reference to a shooting call.

Upon arrival, officers observed a male victim lying in the middle of the street with an apparent gunshot wound to the chest. Officers began lifesaving measures until medics arrived on scene.

Multiple witnesses on scene reported that a male suspect, later identified as a 39-year-old man, approached the victim in the middle of the street and began a verbal dispute. After the dispute escalated into a physical altercation, a 20-year-old female exited a vehicle and fired multiple rounds which struck the victim. The suspects fled the scene but were identified by witnesses who stated that the victim had previous incidents with the suspects.

The victim was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as a 48-year-old man.

Both suspects were apprehended by officers and arrested for Murder. They are currently in the City of Denton Jail with bond not yet set.
