Vehicle vs. 18 Wheeler (Krum)
Vehicle vs. Semi with Entrapment, Major Injuries (Denton Co, Krum) This morning around 5:20am, Stations 580 (Krum) and 650 (Ponder) were dispatched to a major accident involving an 18 wheeler and a vehicle on Highway 380 near Trent Road. Medic 583 was first on scene, 1 vehicle vs. semi, semi in the ditch, major damage with entrapment. Extrication was started and CareFlite was launched. CareFlite 1 landed but a mechanical issue forced them out of service at the scene. Krum FD medic transported the patient by ground to Denton Presby and met CareFlite 6 at the hospital. CareFlite 6 then flew the patient, reportedly suffering from amputation, to Parkland.
