Missing kayaker’s body recovered from Marine Creek Lake
On Monday, December 15, 2025, at approximately 8:00 pm, the Fort Worth Police Department received a call about a missing person in the 4700 block of TCC Lakeside Dr.
Friends and family reported they had been unable to locate the missing person. The missing person’s last known contact was around 10:00 am on Monday, when he advised he was going fishing and kayaking in the area. After several hours without contact, family members were able to ping his last known location, which led officers to the scene.
Officers located the missing person’s vehicle parked near a boat ramp.
FWPD Air One responded and located an empty kayak on the east side of the lake, which was confirmed to belong to the missing person.
Dive teams from the Fort Worth Fire Department responded and searched the water. The search continued until approximately 11:00 pm that evening, when the Tarrant Regional Water District arrived and assumed search operations. TRWD continued searching throughout the night and into the early morning hours.
On December 17, 2025, at approximately 5:45 PM the Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD) Law Enforcement Division with the assistance of Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Wardens recovered the body of a male subject consistent with the description of the missing person.
The body will be turned over to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner for identification, and the investigation into the details continues along with the City of Fort Worth Police Department.
