Five people shot at Fort Worth family gathering

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Saturday night in East Division.

On Saturday, April 11, 2026, at approximately 10:44 p.m., East Division officers were called to the 5200 block of Shackleford Street in reference to a shooting. 

Officers arrived on scene and found five adult victims with gunshot wounds. Fort Worth Fire was called to the scene to assist. The victims were transported to local hospitals for treatment.

Officers learned that there was a family gathering when a verbal argument occurred. During that argument, 22-year-old, Jose Manuel Garcia produced a gun and fired towards the crowd injuring 5 people. 

Jose Manuel Garcia was arrested for aggravated assault with deadly weapon.

The investigation remains ongoing as gun violence detectives work to gather additional details to understand what fully transpired during the altercation and shooting.

This is believed to be an isolated incident.
