Water Rescue of Deputy (Ft Worth)

From FWFD: A Tarrant County Sheriff’s Deputy was swept away by high water during an attempt to rescue a stranded motorist early this morning around 1:00 am. The deputy, together with a bystander, were trying to rescue a 70 year old female from rising flood waters in the 11600 block of Oak Grove Rd. Both rescuers were swept away as well as the vehicle. The Fort Worth Fire Department responded with two dive teams and six fire apparatus. Fire Department divers launched boats as firefighters searched the shorelines. Deputy Krystal Salazar was found clinging to a tree limb around 2:56 am and picked up by one of the FWFD dive boats. She was then transported via Medstar Ambulance to John Peter Smith hospital for evaluation.
Presently, rescue efforts have moved to a recovery stage. The vehicle involved in the initial rescue attempt by Salazar, was swept away as well and completely submerged. The search for the female victim will resume once the flood waters have receded and the water current is safe enough for an underwater search.

Flooded Roadways (DFW)

Multiple departments across DFW, including both Dallas and Fort Worth, are working flooded roadways due to round #1 of heavy rain. There have been upwards of 10 water rescues in Johnson County. Both Dallas and Fort Worth Police and Fire are working dozens of high water/stranded vehicle calls in flood prone roadways. There are too many to keep up with. If you see high water over the roadway, do not attempt to proceed through the water. Turn around and find another way to your destination.

Water Rescue (Saginaw)

Quint 214, Battalion 14, MedStar and Saginaw PD are working multiple vehicles stuck in the water at Bailey Boswell Road and Blue Mound Road North. Rescue in progress of at least one trapped occupant. Road will be shut down due to flooded roadway.
