UPDATE: Man killed in Watauga officer-involved shooting incident
At 10:27am this morning, Watauga police officers were dispatched to a welfare check in the 6500 block of Woodale Drive.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with someone who stated there was a man sleeping in her mother’s house that was not supposed to be there due to an active protective order against him.
When officers entered the residence, the man pointed a shotgun and them. Officers fired their weapons and exited the residence to a safe position.
The man was later found deceased. When officers searched the residence, they located a deceased female. The death of the female is a suspected homicide.
The Texas Rangers are investigating the scene. Both officers involved are uninjured.
