Woman killed in Fort Worth crash after vehicle hit tree, police say

On Sunday evening at around 8:38pm, Fort Worth Fire Department and Police Department along with MedStar EMS responded to a vehicle crash in the 2200 block of New York Avenue near E. Arlington Avenue.

When emergency responders arrived, they located one vehicle with major damage after hitting a tree.

The male driver was not seriously hurt. A female passenger in the vehicle suffered major injuries in the crash. Firefighters and paramedics administered life-saving measures at the scene and while en route to the hospital, but she was pronounced deceased.

The victim has been identified as a 28-year-old woman from Fort Worth.

The crash remains under investigation.

Northeast Dallas crash claims life of one driver

On Sunday at around 3:30pm, Dallas Fire Rescue and Police responded to a two-vehicle crash in the 4300 block of Abrams Road in northeast Dallas.

When officers arrived, they observed two vehicles involved in a collision.

Authorities say a 36-year-old man was driving southbound on Abrams Road when he lost control and crashed into another vehicle. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the second vehicle was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

19-year-old motorcyclist killed in crash near Argyle

On Sunday morning at around 7:52am, multiple emergency responders were dispatched to a crash on Hilltop Road near Tudor Lane in the Argyle area.

When Denton County ESD #1 and DPS Troopers arrived at the scene, they found a motorcycle had crashed and hit a utility pole.

Paramedics transported the motorcyclist to a Denton hospital, but he was pronounced deceased. He has been identified as a 19-year-old from Denton.

The investigation is ongoing.

19-year-old killed in northwest Fort Worth shooting

On November 18, 2023 at 2:13am, Fort Worth police officers were dispatched to a shooting in the 1200 block of NW 35th St. When officers arrived, they located a man with a gunshot wound.

MedStar EMS transported the victim to a trauma center, but he succumbed to his injuries around 9:00am this morning.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim as a 19-year-old man from Arlington.

Homicide and gun violence detectives are actively investigating this incident.

Woman stabbed her husband before crashing vehicle into pond with kids inside, Carrollton police say

At around 7:48am this morning, Carrollton police responded to a 9-1-1 call from a man stating his wife had stabbed him at their home in the 4400 block of Tall Knight Lane.

Carrollton paramedics transported him to a local hospital where he is expected to survive.

A short time after, Lewisville dispatch received reports of a vehicle into a pond near the 900 block of Hebron Parkway.

Lewisville Fire and Police arrived to find a vehicle submerged in the water. Firefighters and officers rescued the woman and two children from the vehicle. A third child was able to escape on their own. Firefighters resuscitated two of the children. The kids, ages 8, 9, and 12, are all recovering in the hospital. Police say one is in critical condition and the other two are stable.

The woman is in police custody at this time, pending criminal charges.

Family members are cooperating with police.

Frisco police investigating fatal shooting as an apparent random act

The Frisco Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in a shooting that left one person dead and another wounded.

On Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at approximately 9:34 p.m., Frisco Police Officers responded to a shooting in the area of the Walmart located on the northwest corner of Preston Road and Hickory Street.  Callers into Dispatch advised of hearing gun shots, and it was reported that at least one person was believed to have been shot.

Upon arrival to the area, Officers located one subject in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds, and a second subject nearby on Hickory with multiple gunshot wounds. While Officers searched the area for possible suspects, other Officers secured the scene so that both victims could receive medical aid.  Personnel from the Frisco Fire Department then transported both wounded to local hospitals for treatment.  Despite lifesaving measures, one of the victims later succumbed to their wounds, while the second is currently in stable condition.  The identities of both victims are not being released at this time.

No arrests have been made at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.  Detectives are actively working to develop suspect information and asking anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the Frisco Police Department at (972) 292-6010. “While initial information suggested that this was an isolated incident, upon further investigation it appears that the two victims were shot at random,” Frisco police say.

  • Reduce or eliminate opportunities that may make you appealing to a criminal, e.g., walking alone, looking down at your phone, wearing headphones.

UPDATE: Elderly driver killed in crash near Benbrook

On Wednesday, November 16, at around 4:15pm, Benbrook Fire Department and Police Department along with Cresson Fire Department and Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office responded to a major accident on southbound Highway 377 near FM 1187 south of Benbrook.

Deputies arrived to find a two-vehicle accident. Two drivers were both seriously hurt in the collision.

Paramedics called for a CareFlite helicopter, which landed at the scene and airlifted one of the drivers to a Fort Worth trauma center. The second driver was transported by ambulance to the hospital.

One of the drivers was pronounced deceased at the hospital. He has been identified as an 84-year-old man from Granbury.

TCSO crash investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash.

Dallas officer shot during capital murder arrest

On November 16, 2023, at approximately 6:00 AM, the US Marshals Task Force, including members of the Dallas Police Department, executed a Capital Murder arrest warrant in the 9900 block of Adleta Boulevard.

During the execution of the warrant, the suspect and officers exchanged gunfire.

A Dallas Police Task Force member was shot in the leg. The suspect was also shot.

The officer was transported to a local hospital in stable condition. The suspect was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

This remains an ongoing investigation that will be documented under case number 203255-2023.

Motorcyclist killed in crash on DNT in Plano

At around 8:32pm on Tuesday, November 14, Plano Fire Rescue and DPS Troopers responded to a major accident on southbound Dallas North Tollway near Park Blvd.

First arriving units arrived to find a motorcyclist down. The 23-year-old Dallas man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Investigators say the man was operating a motorcycle southbound on the tollway when he veered out of his lane and struck an attenuator.

Southbound lanes of the Dallas North Tollway were closed while DPS worked the scene.
