Two shot, including child, in drive-by shooting at Arlington home

At around 2:50am this morning, Arlington police officers responded to a home in the 1000 block of Tennessee Trail to investigate reports of a drive-by shooting. 

When officers arrived at the home, they found a 19-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds in one of the bedrooms. He was transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive. 

They also found a 5-year-old girl who had been shot in the hand. She was transported to an area hospital as well. Her injuries are non-life threatening. 

Police believe a 20-year-old man inside the home may have also been grazed by a bullet, but he declined transport and was treated and released at the scene. Two additional people inside the house at the time were not injured. 

Officers located multiple shell casings outside the home and multiple bullet holes in the front window and wall of the house. At this time, we do not any have suspect information. The people in the house told officers they did not know who or why someone would shoot at their home.

Investigators are now canvassing the neighborhood looking for any surveillance cameras that may have caught something or witnesses who have any additional information.

UPDATE: Man struck, killed at McDonald’s in Lewisville

At around 9:25am on Saturday, June 29, Lewisville Fire Department and Police Department responded to a pedestrian struck at the McDonald’s in the 700 block of Main Street.

The driver of a pickup truck was backing out of a parking spot, accelerated very abruptly, and struck a man walking out of the restaurant.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner has identified the victim as an 81-year-old man from Flower Mound.

The driver of the truck was taken to Medical City Lewisville hospital.

Lewisville PD is investigating all possible causes for this crash, including a possible medical issue for the driver, causing him to accelerate quickly.

UPDATE: One person shot during large disturbance in north Fort Worth

On Saturday, June 29th, 2024, at 9:24 p.m., Fort Worth PD officers were dispatched to the 6900 block of Blue Mound Rd. in response to a reported shooting.

During an altercation involving a large group of individuals, an unidentified suspect(s) displayed a firearm and began shooting.

One victim was struck once and was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect(s) are still outstanding. Gun Violence detectives have been notified and are actively investigating the incident.

One arrested following SWAT standoff in east Fort Worth

On Friday, June 28, 2024, at 10:44 a.m., East Division officers were dispatched to 7500 Vanessa Dr. in reference to a domestic disturbance call. The caller reported an issue with his girlfriend’s son, who was upstairs in a room and had caused property damage the previous night.

Upon arrival, officers talked to the complainant and attempted to communicate with the suspect, who then barricaded himself in a room, refusing to come out. Fort Worth Police SWAT, Crisis Intervention units, and TacMed responded to the scene.

The suspect, who had an active warrant out of Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office for Criminal Mischief, was apprehended without further incident. He was checked by medical personnel on the scene and transported to a local hospital complaining of head pain and body aches.

Motorcyclist killed in Haltom City crash

On Friday, June 28th, 2024, at approximately 8:21 P.M., Haltom City Police, Fire, and MedStar EMS were dispatched to the intersection of NE 28th Street and Higgins Lane for a reported major accident.

First responders arrived and located an adult male motorcyclist that had been struck and killed by another vehicle.

Police say the investigation is in its early stages, but it is believed that the rider lost control and began sliding towards another vehicle who was waiting to make a turn. His motorcycle struck the stationary vehicle, but he slid into an adjacent lane of traffic where he was struck by an oncoming vehicle.

There were no other reported injuries for this incident.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office will take control of the body and release identity information when appropriate.

“At this time, we have no reason to believe that a criminal act occurred,” says HCPD.

Man shot, killed in front yard at south Fort Wort home

On Friday, June 28, 2024, at 2:25 p.m., Fort Worth police officers were dispatched to the 4400 block of Chesapeake Bay Drive in response to a shooting call.

Upon arrival, officers found a deceased adult male in a front yard with gunshot wounds. Medical personnel attempted life-saving measures, but were unsuccessful. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim as 54-year-old man.

Detectives found that a suspect drove up to the residence and fired multiple shots at the victim before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.

Homicide detectives are actively investigating this incident.

One person killed in fiery Euless crash

On Thursday, June 27, 2024, at approximately 7:07 am., the Euless Police Department and Fire Department responded to a crash in the 2300 block of Highway 121 northbound involving three vehicles.

Witnesses reported a small SUV had been travelling at a high rate of speed and weaving through traffic. The vehicle attempted to pass on the inside shoulder and struck a disabled pickup truck that was stopped there.

The driver then hit a second vehicle in the travel lane of the highway.

After the collision, the small SUV became engulfed in flames. The driver was deceased at the scene and was the only occupant of the vehicle. They have not been identified at this time.

The disabled pickup truck was occupied by an adult male. He was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the third vehicle was medically evaluated by Euless Fire Department Medics at the scene and released.

Driver dies after colliding into overturned 18-wheeler on Highway 287

On Thursday at approximately 3:48am, several agencies responded to a major accident along southbound Highway 287 near the Wise and Montague County line.

A preliminary investigation has revealed an 18-wheeler was traveling southbound on Highway 287 when it overturned and blocked the southbound lanes.

A 33-year-old man driving a pickup truck southbound on Highway 287 collided with the 18-wheeler after it overturned. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was not seriously injured.

Plane crashes shortly after taking off from McKinney Airport; 2 killed

Just after 10:30am this morning, McKinney Fire Department and Police Department responded to the area of County Road 317 south of McKinney National Airport to investigate a plane crash.

Emergency responders found a Cessna 414 aircraft crashed into a dirt hill at a construction site.

“The preliminary information we have is the plane crashed after taking off from the McKinney National Airport,” said the NTSB (National Transportation Safety Board).

Officials confirm two people on board the plane were killed. A third occupant was airlifted to a local hospital by CareFlite air ambulance.

An NTSB investigator is en route to the scene and is expected to arrive tomorrow. Once on site, the investigator will begin the process of documenting the scene and examining the aircraft. The aircraft will then be recovered to a secure facility for further evaluation.  

Witnesses to the accident or those who have surveillance video or other information that could be relevant to the investigation are asked to contact the NTSB at witness@ntsb.gov.

Fleeing suspect shot in shootout with Duncanville and Cedar Hill police

At approximately 8:17 pm on Wednesday evening, Cedar Hill police officers initiated a vehicle pursuit that started at 301 N Joe Wilson in Cedar Hill.

During the pursuit, a Duncanville officer joined to assist.

At approximately 8:23 pm, the vehicle pursuit ended in the 8000 block of Marvin D Love Fwy in Dallas. The driver of the fleeing vehicle exchanged gunfire with Cedar Hill and Duncanville officers on scene.

No officers were injured, but the suspect was transported to a local hospital.
