UPDATE: Motorcyclist killed in Mansfield crash

This afternoon, Mansfield Fire/EMS and Police were dispatched to a crash in the 1900 block of FM 157 involving a motorcycle and a car.

At the time of the accident, the driver of the motorcycle was found on the ground, and lifesaving measures were immediately administered at the scene.

Subsequently, the driver of the motorcycle was transported to a hospital by ambulance for further medical treatment; however, he was pronounced deceased.

The driver of the other involved vehicle was also treated by medics, and released at the scene.

The motorcyclist has been identified as a 21-year-old man from Mansfield.

Truck driver killed in Grapevine crash

At approximately 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2024, the driver of a tractor trailer was taking the exit from northbound SH-121 to eastbound I-635 when he failed to make the curve. The truck crashed into the guardrail on the left side of the road, then overturned in the median.

The driver, a 62-year-old man from Plano, was already deceased when officers arrived on scene.

“It appears both speed and a flat tire contributed to the crash,” says Grapevine PD.

The eastbound exit onto I-635 was shut down for approximately six hours, and reopened just before noon.

Single vehicle crash claims life of woman in Arlington

The Arlington Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that resulted in the death of a 36-year-old Arlington woman.  

On Friday, July 05, 2024, at 11:38 a.m., Arlington Police Department, Fire Department, and EMS responded to the 2200 block of NW Green Oaks Blvd after receiving a call regarding a vehicle striking a concrete structure head-on.

When officers arrived, they learned that the 36-year-old driving an SUV was traveling southbound in the inside lane in the 2200 block of NW Green Oaks Blvd when it veered right across all lanes and left the roadway.  The vehicle struck a guide wire for an electrical pole, then hit the concrete structure.

The cause of the accident remains unknown, and investigators are working to determine what lead up to the crash.

The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene, and a 4-year-old passenger was transported to Cook’s Children’s Hospital for evaluation. 

At this time, it is unknown why the vehicle left the roadway, Arlington police say.

Multiple people shot during large party in east Fort Worth

At 11:33 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, 2024, Fort Worth officers responded to a shooting call in East Fort Worth at the intersection of Castleman St. and Wiman Dr.  

Officers found one female victim with a gunshot wound and a second victim who had suffered a medical emergency. Both victims were taken to an area hospital and unfortunately did not survive their injuries. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner will determine the manner, cause of death, and the identities of the deceased will be released once next-of-kin are notified.

Two additional shooting victims were also taken to area hospitals with non-life-threatening gunshot injuries and are expected to survive.  

The shooting took place after a crowd of about 200-300 people took over a multiple blocks on Castleman St. and were launching fireworks towards neighboring homes.

Two children, 1 and 4, and adult man killed in Fort Worth shooting

At 11:40 p.m. on July 4th, Fort Worth officers responded to a fatal shooting in South Fort Worth.  

Officers arrived to the 7500 block of W. Cleburne Rd. to find an adult male with a gunshot wound to his lower body. The victim was taken an area hospital and did not survive his injuries.  

The Fort Worth Police Department learned that during the same time frame, five additional shooting victims were taken by private vehicles to a local hospital with injuries sustained from the same shooting incident.  

Unfortunately, two female shooting victims who were 15-months-old and four-years-old did not survive their injuries.  

Three other victims who were shot are not believed to have life-threatening injuries. 

Detectives learned that a fight broke out between the suspect and one of the shooting victims. The suspect began shooting at the individual and others who were present. 

During the course of the investigation, it was determined the suspect was also shot during this incident. 

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner will determine the manner, cause of death, and the identities of the deceased will be released once next-of-kin are notified.

Police safely locate young female abducted from Fort Worth home

On Friday, July 5, 2024, at approximately 2:07 a.m., the Fort Worth Police Department responded to a robbery and kidnapping in the 6700 block of Golden Grove Road. The initial call indicated that a young female had been taken at gunpoint by two suspects.

Officers who arrived on scene found that two male suspects had entered a residence, abducted the young female, and took off in two stolen vehicles from the home.

At 2:51 a.m., officers found one of the stolen vehicles and attempted to stop it. The driver led officers in a brief pursuit that ended with a crash near the intersection of the South Freeway and Sycamore School Road. The suspect ran away from the vehicle and officers were able to arrest him. The victim was located safely inside the vehicle and taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The male suspect was taken to the Scott D. Moore Juvenile Justice Center on four felony charges (Aggravated Kidnapping, Aggravated Robbery, Arson, Evading arrest detention on foot, Unauthorized use of Motor Vehicle and Evading arrest detention with vehicle).

This remains an ongoing investigation. There is not an immediate threat to the general public as this incident is isolated.

The Fort Worth Police Department is searching for the second suspect who was described as either a Black or Hispanic male, approximately 5’6” tall.

Woman found shot near vehicle along Flower Mound Road; suspect arrested

At 12:49 a.m. today, July 5, Flower Mound Police officers responded to a call reporting a shooting in the 1800 block of Flower Mound Road. Upon arrival, officers located a gunshot victim lying outside a stationary vehicle in the westbound lanes of traffic. 

The 28-year-old female victim, of Double Oak, was transported by the Flower Mound Fire Department to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Grapevine with life threatening injuries. 

The suspect – Ladarius M. Brownlee, 28, of Northlake – was still on scene when officers arrived. He has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is in custody, and additional charges are pending. 

This case is being investigated by the Flower Mound Police Department Criminal Investigation Division. Anyone with information or video of the incident is asked to contact the Flower Mound Police Department tip line at 972.874.3307.  

Two shot, one fatally, at west Fort Worth motel

On Monday, July 1, 2024, at 3:21 p.m., Fort Worth police officers were dispatched to the 7500 block of Camp Bowie West Blvd. in response to a shooting call.

Upon arrival, officers located two victims with apparent gunshot wounds to their upper bodies.

The victims were transported to area hospitals for medical treatment. Unfortunately, one victim did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The second victim is currently receiving medical care and is in an unknown condition.

Homicide detectives are actively investigating this case as a possible robbery. No arrests have been made at this time. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the manner and cause of death, as well as the identity of the deceased once the next-of-kin has been notified.
