UPDATE: Man critically hurt in Arlington shooting; suspect arrested

At around 6:35am, Arlington officers responded to the parking lot of the General Motors plant, located in the 2500 block of E. Abram Street, to investigate a shooting.

When they arrived, officers found a 24-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

The suspected shooter, 26-year-old Larry Hines, left the parking lot immediately after the shooting. A short time later, Hines called 9-1-1 to inform police that he was involved in the incident.

Officers detained him at an apartment complex in the 4100 block of Viridian Village Drive. After further investigation, the suspect was arrested and booked into the Arlington City Jail on one count of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Detectives between the suspect and the victim, who know each other, got into a verbal argument in the parking lot that escalated and resulted in the suspect firing multiple shots.

The investigation is ongoing.
