Man’s body recovered from Alvarado Lake after canoe capsizes

At around 12:00pm on Friday, September 12th, Alvarado Fire and Police, Texas Game Wardens, and CareFlite EMS responded to a drowning at Alvarado Lake.

The owner of a canoe, who lives in the Blue Water Oaks neighborhood, called 9-1-1 to report that he had found his canoe capsized in the water. The canoe had been borrowed the night before.

Emergency responders worked to locate the missing man throughout the day and evening on the 12th. On Saturday morning, Game Wardens located the body of the 48-year-old man who had borrowed the canoe. He has been identified as a resident of Johnson County.

The incident remains under investigation.

One person killed in overnight fiery crash, Haltom City police say

On Sunday, September 14, 2025, at approximately 2:45 a.m., officers responded to reports of a major accident in the westbound express lanes of IH 820 near Fossil Creek Boulevard.

Upon arrival, officers located two pickup trucks involved in the crash. One of the vehicles caught fire after the collision.

The driver, who was the sole occupant of that truck, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased and determine the official cause and manner of death.

The driver of the second vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators. At this time, it is unknown if any charges will be filed, police say.

Woman killed in North Richland Hills shooting; three in custody

North Richland Hills police are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred shortly after midnight in the 8600 block of Airport Freeway.

The deceased victim is a 21-year-old female from Dallas. Her information will be released by the medical examiner’s office. The second victim, who was transported to the hospital, is a 23-year-old man from Dallas. He is reportedly in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries. 

Two NRH officers were working off duty at the time of the incident. One officer was able to return fire, and the second officer was able to apply a tourniquet prior to medic’s arrival for the male victim’s injuries.

Three 18-year-old men are in custody; however, their names and photographs will not be available until they have seen a judge.

Detectives have recovered what they believe to be the murder weapon. The initial evidence reveals that there was an altercation between several people before the shooting occurred. 

UPDATE: Four-vehicle crash claims three lives in Tarrant County

On September 1, at around 8:20pm, multiple agencies, including Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office, Cresson Fire Department, and CareFlite, responded to a major accident in the 8700 block of FM 1187 near Ben Day Murrin Road.

When deputies arrived, they found four vehicles involved and multiple people critically injured. Three people have been pronounced deceased and two others were hospitalized in critical condition.

One of the victims, a 52-year-old woman, was pronounced deceased after being transported to a Fort Worth hospital. The two victims who died at the scene have not been publicly identified yet.

The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office is working to determine the cause of the crash.

Fatal crash believed to be intentional, Irving police say

At around 3:30am this morning, Irving Fire Department and Police Department responded to a major accident along westbound IH-635 near PGBT.

When emergency responders arrived, one vehicle was fully involved with fire. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Investigators say the vehicle was traveling westbound when it left the roadway and collided into a bridge pillar. It was revealed that before the driver got behind the wheel, they had expressed thoughts of suicide. Police have determined this accident was an intentional act to cause their own death.

Man fatally shot during large fight in Euless

On 09/01/25, around 2:00 am, Euless PD officers responded to reports of a shooting at a business in the 1500 block of W. Euless Blvd. Initial scanner traffic indicated it was at Marina’s Restaurant and Club.

Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds. The man was transported to the hospital by Euless Fire Department personnel and was pronounced deceased.

Euless PD criminal investigators learned that a fight had erupted in the parking lot just outside the business. It involved multiple subjects from several different groups. A 31-year-old man was shot multiple times and later declared deceased.

Two other adults sustained injuries from the fight and were transported to a local hospital. The shooter fled the scene.

This incident is under active investigation. More information will be released at a future time.

UPDATE: Cleburne woman dies after being struck by vehicle

At around 2:45pm this afternoon, Cleburne Fire/EMS and Police along with CareFlite Ground EMS responded to a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the 500 block of Phillips Street.

It was initially reported that a woman was struck by a vehicle. When emergency crews arrived on scene, they began treating the elderly woman and called for a CareFlite helicopter.

The CareFlite helicopter landed nearby and airlifted the woman to a local hospital. She was pronounced deceased from her injuries a short time later, according to records from the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Cleburne PD is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Man’s body recovered from Eagle Mountain Lake

On August 24, 2025, at approximately 3:25 p.m., TRWD Law Enforcement officers recovered a body from Eagle Mountain Lake.. The recovery took place near Crest Point, located on the southeast portion of the lake, in the area where an individual had been reported missing and was last seen around 5:00 p.m. on August 23.

The body has been transferred to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office for official identification (Case Number: 2513734). The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident remains ongoing.

TRWD was assisted in the recovery efforts by Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Wardens and Eagle Mountain Fire Department. We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the victim during this difficult time.

Original Release

At approximately 5:00 PM, TRWD Communications received a call reporting two children floating in the water and screaming for help. A nearby boater rescued the children and reported the incident. TRWD LED units responded, secured the children, and initiated an investigation. It was determined that the children had been on the lake in a small watercraft with their father. The father, a 50 year old male, has not been located and is currently considered missing.

TRWD Police Officers are searching for the missing man with assistance from Texas Parks and Wildlife, Fort Worth Police Department and Eagle Mountain Fire Department.

Pedestrian fatally struck by vehicles near High Five in Dallas

On August 23, 2025, at about 1:25 a.m., Dallas police responded to a major accident in the 13300 block of N Central Expressway on the southbound side.

The preliminary investigation determined that a victim was struck by multiple vehicles.

Richardson Fire Rescue responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

A driver of a vehicle involved remained at scene.

The investigation is ongoing.

Early morning crash kills one person in Hurst

The Hurst Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred around 2:20am this morning in the 200 block of Brown Trail.

Hurst Police and Fire responded to the scene and located an overturned vehicle.

According to police, a passenger was ejected in the crash. Paramedics pronounced the individual deceased at the scene. At least one other person was transported to a local hospital.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
