Flash Flood WATCH (DFW)

A Flash Flood WATCH has been issued for all of north Texas, including the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, from Tuesday morning to Thursday evening. The watch has been issued in preparation for Tropical Storm Bill set to make landfall on the Texas coast Tuesday. Tropical Storm Bill will move through north Texas between Tuesday and Thursday. Widespread rainfall amounts of 2-4 inches are expected, with isolated higher amounts. Tropical thunderstorms are known to produce very heavy rainfall, so flash flooding will be a major concern. The watch includes almost 50 counties in north and central Texas from the Waco area north to the Red River, east to Canton and west to Possum Kingdom Lake. Remember to follow DFW Scanner and our weather partners at Texas Storm Chasers, iWeatherNet, and especially the US National Weather Service in Fort Worth for all weather updates.
