9-1-1 Down (Again) For Many Cities, Counties Across North Texas

Just a few hours after agencies reported their 9-1-1 systems were back up and running, another outage occurred, plaguing cities and counties within the North Central Texas Council of Governments.

The first 9-1-1 outage was reported around 11pm last night and lasted throughout the overnight hours. It was restored around 6am, but by 8:30am the outage was reported again.

The NCTCOG says the outages are due to a nationwide issue with CenturyLink. There is no estimated time of restoration.

A 9-1-1 outage may not seem like a big issue since most of us do not have to call every day. But in the event of an unforeseen emergency, you will need to get a hold of emergency responders.

Please view this link and see if your city is impacted. If it is, take note of the number you may need to call if you encounter an emergency: https://www.nct911.org/9-1-1-outage-update/

We will keep you updated on the situation.

Update – NCTCOG: According to our service provider, all 9-1-1 services with the NCT9-1-1 region are operating normally. However, NCT9-1-1 will continue to monitor call traffic to ensure 9-1-1 calls are being received before we confirm that we are no longer affected by the CenturyLink outage.
