Prepare for cold, possible wintry precipitation by midweek
This week may get interesting with the possibility of wintry precipitation, says the National Weather Service. “Confidence is increasing that most of North and Central Texas will see some LIGHT winter precipitation midweek,” says the NWS Fort Worth office.
Everything should hold off until Wednesday. There is a chance of rain, sleet, and some snow throughout the day Wednesday, but it is too early to know whether there will be major travel impacts. At this time, the forecast only includes the chance for light precipitation, so major travel impacts are not expected. But stay up to date just in case things change.
Temperatures will fall below freezing overnight Tuesday and into the early morning hours of Wednesday. Some area temperatures may dip into the 20’s. Any precipitation that falls has the potential to be wintry in these temperatures.
We encourage you to check out our weather partners at Texas Storm Chasers and especially the US National Weather Service Fort Worth for more information. We will keep you updated as the week progresses because the forecast may certainly change by then.
