Hurst police maintaining presence at L.D. Bell HS due to ongoing threats

The Hurst Police Department is maintaining a presence at L. D. Bell High School today due to ongoing social media threats. The online threats have continued throughout the last 24 hours.

Several students have continued to received threats via social media, all of which have been unsubstantiated at this time. Officers were first made aware of the threats yesterday and were at the school throughout the day as classes continued. We have received screenshots from the student’s parents which appear to have come from Snapchat and text messages.

Classes will continue today as scheduled, according to police. There is no lockdown procedure in place.

“While we are unable to disclose all of the details of our investigation, we can assure you that we are monitoring social media and are continuing to investigate the threats. The safety of our high school students is out utmost priority” says Hurst PD.
