Intoxicated driver causes three-car crash in south Dallas; one dead

An intoxicated driver traveling at a high rate of speed ran a red light late last night in south Dallas, causing a three-car major accident that claimed the life of one person.

Dallas Police and Fire crews responded to the crash just before 11PM last night at the intersection of W. Davis Street and N. Westmoreland Road.

The victim was traveling eastbound on Davis Street when her vehicle was struck at a high rate of speed by a vehicle traveling southbound on Westmoreland Road. The victim’s vehicle was sent into a spin, eventually colliding with another vehicle.

The victim, identified as a 22-year-old female, was transported by DFR to Methodist Dallas Hospital, but was pronounced deceased.

The intoxicated driver fled the scene on foot. He was located by Air-1 walking into a residence nearby, and subsequently arrested for Intoxication Manslaughter and Failure to Stop and Render Aid.
