Student arrested for making online threats to South Hills HS

An online threat via social media has prompted a police investigation and arrest of the student involved.

First reports of the threat surfaced last night. A Snapchat user posted that he or she was going to kill everyone in the school. The account also posted a picture of an assault-style weapon with “prepare for lockdown and prepare for death” text.

Police were notified last night and immediately took action. Officers were able to identify the student involved, and they took him into custody around 12:30AM.

Fort Worth ISD says extra police will be on hand at the school today so students and others feel safe. “There is no immediate threat to our campus at this time,” officials say.

Police report the suspect is an 18-year-old former student at the school.
