On Monday evening, Dallas police responded to a shooting call at a hotel, 11301 Dennis Road near Northaven Road in northwest Dallas.

Officers arrived to find the victim shot numerous times in the parking lot area behind the building. He was transported to a hospital where he died of his injuries.

Last Thursday evening (January 24), Dallas police officers discovered a body in a wooded area behind a park at 2400 Van Cleave Drive in south Dallas.

The body was in a severe state of decomposition.

Here is a rough sketch of the body, described as a white female mid 30’s, 5’3″ with dark brown hair. She has a tattoo on her right forearm.

Earlier this morning, the Irving Police Department notified a handful of schools in the Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD to go into a lockout procedure while they investigated an online threat. Extra precautions were taken and outdoor activities were limited.

Irving Police along with district security responded to the campuses and provided additional support during the lockouts.

“Classes are now back to normal operations,” says CFB ISD. All students are safe.

There are no additional details on the threat.

Multiple Fort Worth PD units are investigating a possible shooting near the 3500 block of Park Lake Drive near McCart Ave.

Dispatched information indicates someone reportedly pulled a gun and may have shot someone else. The department’s helicopter, Air-1, was overhead, but has cleared the scene.

Multiple officers are on scene. Fort Worth FD and MedStar also responded.

Fort Worth ISD says South Hills HS, Southwest HS, and Wedgwood MS have gone into lockout status, meaning normal activities are taking place inside the school. There are no schools currently on lockdown. No outdoor activities are permitted at the schools right now.

Update – FWPD says a teenager has been shot in an altercation. No information on condition.

According to officials with Northwest ISD, Medlin Middle School and Byron Nelson High School in Trophy Club were temporarily placed on lockdown today due to a police investigation.

A stolen vehicle was originally reported in the area, prompting the lockdowns. Further information from Roanoke PD indicated the vehicle was not in the area, and the lockdowns were lifted.

There was no threat to the schools, and the lockdown procedure was done out of an abundance of caution.

Here is a quick update on the major accident we posted this morning on northbound I45 in Ferris.

Ferris FD with assistance from Palmer FD and Wilmer FD along with CareFlite ground EMS and multiple law enforcement responded to a major accident this morning on northbound I45 in Ferris. Upon arrival, officers located two vehicles in the median.

One of the drivers had critical injuries. CPR was reported at the scene. A CareFlite helicopter responded to the scene and airlifted the patient to Methodist Dallas. Upon arrival at the hospital, the patient died.

Due to the fatality, the accident is currently under investigation by the Ferris Police Department. Additional information will be released as the investigation permits.

Multiple Plano FD units are on scene of a working fire inside of a reported two-story house in the 4000 block of Benoit Drive.

Engine 8 has arrived to find fire showing from the first floor. A working fire has been declared. This is ongoing in a neighborhood hear the Hedgecoxe Road and Coit Road. Engine 8 has fire attack. Truck 8 has ventilation.

Battalion 1, Battalion 2, Engine 10, Engine 12, Engine 4, Medic 10, Squad 1, Truck 4, and Truck 8 are all assigned to the fire.

This morning around 7:00AM, Frisco police were made aware of another coyote attack in the area of Eldorado Parkway and Tangerine Lane. In this incident, an adult male was jogging in the area at approximately 6:40AM when a coyote emerged from the woods and bit him.

The jogger was able to fend off the coyote and was taken by personal vehicle to the hospital.

The Frisco Police Department and Animal Services division continue to work with wildlife service partners in an effort to abate urban wildlife attacks on humans.

Officials are warning residents to do a few things in order to stay safe.
1) While jogging or walking, carry something that makes a loud noise, such as an airhorn or a whistle, to scare off the animal if one appears.
2) If you are jogging or walking an animal, make sure they are on a leash.
3) Do not allow domesticated animals to roam outdoors.
4) Do not approach or feed wildlife and keep trash in a secure container.
5) Report any sightings to police through this link.

This is one of several coyote attacks reported in this immediate area of Frisco since October of last year. Multiple people and animals have been attacked, prompting Frisco PD and animal control officials to take action and warn residents of these dangers. One coyote was caught and sent in for testing late last year, but this new attack may indicate there are more aggressive coyotes in the area.

“Citizens who witness an attack, or a coyote exhibiting aggressive behavior, are asked to call 9-1-1,” says Frisco Police.

Around 9:15pm yesterday evening, multiple emergency responders from Pilot Point FD and law enforcement were dispatched to a major accident involving a motorcycle on FM 455 E. near 377.

Reports indicated a motorcycle had crashed and the rider was ejected. CPR was being performed by bystanders.

Chief 641 reported major damage and the roadway was to be closed. One person had suffered critical injuries in the crash.

A PHI medical helicopter was requested to the scene, but disregarded. The victim was transported by EMS to Medical City Denton, but died at the hospital.

There are no additional details to provide.

A quick update to the major accident we posted yesterday.

A 6-year-old female from Weatherford has been identified as the victim from yesterday’s fatality accident. Multiple emergency responders worked the scene yesterday afternoon in the 3400 block of N. FM 51 at Stonebridge Road about 4-5 miles north of Weatherford.

A pickup truck and trailer crashed into the back of another vehicle, carrying the victim, while stopped awaiting to make a turn onto Stonebridge Road, according to DPS investigators.

The 6-year-old girl died at the scene of multiple blunt force injuries.

According to records, the victim’s home was located on Stonebridge Road less than a mile from the crash site.
