Carrollton police officer shoots and kills armed suspect

The Carrollton Police Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting in the 1100 block of Walnut Ave.

It happened at approximately 5:30pm this evening in Carrollton after the officers initiated a traffic stop, leading to a short pursuit. One of the Carrollton police officers shot and killed the armed suspect, identified as a 26-year-old man, after the man advanced on officers and refused commands to drop his gun.

The suspect was transported to Parkland, but died at the facility. No officers were injured. The involved officers are on routine paid administrative leave while the investigation proceeds.

North Richland Hills firefighters battling an apartment fire

Battalion 22, Quint 225, Quint 221, Engine 224, Medic 224, Engine 222, and others are on scene of an apartment fire in the 6100 block of Browning Drive.

Units report heavy smoke and fire showing from the roof of an apartment building.

This is ongoing in the area of Browning Drive and Iron Horse Blvd. Avoid this area and watch for responding personnel.

Update – 2nd alarm requested to the scene.

Multiple emergency responders working serious crash on FM 51

Multiple emergency responders have been called to the scene of a major accident on FM 51 north of Springtown and just south of the Parker / Wise county line. Reports indicate the crash is near the Springtown Farmers Market at 1860 N. FM 51.

Springtown FD, Boyd FD, Lifecare EMS, Wise County EMS, and multiple law enforcement have all been dispatched to the scene.

At least two vehicles are involved with multiple people injured and trapped. There are serious injuries reported.

FM 51 is closed in both directions through this area.

UPDATE: No one injured in Dallas officer involved shooting

The Dallas Police Department continues to investigate an officer-involved shooting. The incident occurred last night at Fair Oaks Ave and Park Lane in north Dallas.

Officers responded to a ‘Disturbance Armed Encounter’, essentially a disturbance involving someone who may be armed, just after 7pm at the intersection given above. When officers arrived on scene, the suspect, who matched the description given by the 9-1-1 caller, fled on foot.

During the foot chase, the suspect fired his weapon. One officer returned fire.

The suspect was taken into custody and his weapon was recovered. Luckily, no one was injured during this incident.

Lewisville police investigating a shooting

Lewisville Police are investigating a shooting incident that has injured at least two people.

According to officials, police officers were dispatched to Medical City Lewisville in regards to a gunshot wound victim.

While responding to the hospital, officers conducted a traffic stop and located a second gunshot wound victim in the general area of Business 121 and Valley View Drive. The second gunshot wound victim was fleeing the crime scene.

“At this time we can confirm this is not a robbery, and the two gunshot victims know each other,” says Lewisville PD.

Officers are investigating the circumstances and working to determine the location of the crime scene and other details.
