Search and rescue operation on the Brazos River near Pecan Plantation
Multiple emergency responders, water rescue teams, and rescue boats are working a search and rescue operation on the Brazos River near Pecan Plantation.
Reports indicate at least one kayaker is unaccounted for at this time. Pecan Plantation Fire/EMS, Granbury FD, deCordova Bend Estates Fire Rescue, Texas Game Wardens, and others are on the scene.
The Brazos River Authority has decreased the release of water from Lake Granbury’s deCordova Bend Dam from 10,000 cubic feed per second down to 880 cubic feet per second to aid in the search and rescue situation.

Update – Reports indicate one person was rescued, but another person has drowned. A rescue boat overturned, but all rescuers are safe.
